I am not convinced that a digital id is something that is less likely to get lost. Take email addresses or Hive accounts people can be tricked and it has happened that some paste in private keys in the wrong place, exposing the private key and losing their Hive account's funds. Now, it seems likely they would require it on a smartphone rather than a desktop computer. So now I am carrying around my identity in a phone.
I am assuming you mean some kind of signature from a government entity for all of the aspects of myself but instead it will probably be some URL that tells the merchant everything. Once some entity gets that URL, they have access to your home address. Whoever gets the URL will have access to your current and future home addresses.
I think it would be a good idea to have a card that has a photo, age or one that just says whether you are over 21 or 18, and I guess also the political gender but not the home address.
