It has been raining the past couple of days and when the sun came out earlier today, I prepared my bike and joined my friend in biking the mountainside of Carcar. We used to bike the surrounding area of Perrelos but we got bored with the same scenery so we decided to explore the other side.
The photos above are the areas I usually bike or jog on weekends which is kind of my comfort zone when it comes to my outdoor activities as it is very accessible and has least motorists plying the area. I have posted about this in my liketu account. But today I decided to bike and explore the other area.
Can-Asujan
Barangay Can-asujan is a neighbor of Barangay Perrelos and is located mostly on the mountainside. It has a population of more than 10, 000 according to the latest census with people living mostly below the poverty threshold. But I will not discuss that here.
The photos are in a particular order from the time we bike our way to the area. And by the way, this is just a small part of the entire barangay. There are parts overlooking the city that are very steep and I can no longer manage to bike my way up. Too bad!
Can-asujan River
It only took us around 20 minutes to reach the river. But we did not cross the other side on bike. There is a bridge connecting it so we stop and take a rest there. The greenery and fresh air will surely calm your tired soul. I wish I had discovered the place earlier as it is perfect for relaxation.
Can-asujan Dam
One of the reasons we went to the area was because of the dam. But as we bike further, we could not find any signs of huge structure that of a dam. And no people on the roadside to ask for directions. Since it was getting late already, we decided to go home as we are not familiar with the area and getting killed on our way is the worst that could happen specially that it is Halloween. Yay!
How to get there:
If you are driving, from the highway, just take a right turn taking the Can-asujan road just before Gaisano Mall. If you are taking a bus, just inform the driver to drop you off at Awayan or 711. There are plenty of motorcycle drivers for hire to drive you to the area.
So that is how my day went. It was an outdoor adventure and exploration at the same time. As I have said, I wish I had known it earlier. Have you been to the place? Share it in the comment. Consider sharing and upvoting too.
