Here in the Philippines, most of the administrative and office job positions take Sundays as their day-off from work. And they often consider it as their leisure time wherein they spend it in ways they want. Since I am working as an accountant, I am also entitled to have a rest day during the weekend. This is the perfect moment to make my inner adventurous side happy. Here's how I spent my rest day at the beach.
We walked along the seashore of Pundakit Beach here in our hometown — San Antonio, Zambales. The sight of the boats parked is the sign that we are already at the popular spot here. Since we planned on having a quick snack at the beach and also watch the sunset if we had a chance, we chose a spot where we could be comfortable.
We brought a picnic mat for us, and also to make sure that we can place the foods we prepared in a nice and clean surface. This was an unplanned adventure, so we bought foods that are easy to cook and some are snacks available at the market. We did not prepare much since we did not plan an overnight, just a quick bonding time with the kids.
The moment we saw a good spot, we headed towards its direction and placed the mat. Then, we organized our foods in the middle before taking pictures of them. We had Soda, Sausage Sandwich, Cheeseburger, and the Chicken Feet and Rice. And of course, we brought bottled water too.
After preparing the foods, we started eating since the kids requested it already. They said that they were hungry throughout the travel going here, plus walking towards the spot we chose was a bit tiring as well. We agreed to what they said, and we decided to eat before jumping into the water.
We got busy eating and when we were already full, we just took the chance to take some rest and talk about random things. Even though we are keeping the conversation lively, the kids are still too excited to take a swim. We just told them to wait for a few minutes.
After about 15 minutes, I already told them that they can now swim. We accompanied them and also enjoyed jumping into the seawater. It was a nice outdoor adventure that we experience only once in a while due to busy schedule. The sound of waves felt like a lullaby to us. Plus, the warmth of the sand gave us the most satisfying feeling ever.
