With one of my passions being the outdoors, it made sense to create a Hive community around outdoor and natural places and the experiences we have there, a couple years ago.
The community is called Outdoors and More and is designed as a place people can post about things like hiking, camping, four-wheel driving, hunting, firearms, kayaking, archery, fishing, surfing, climbing, snorkelling, sailing, picnics and BBQ's, bike riding and other such activities...anything outdoorsy, but they have to be in the great outdoors, not in the back yard or the little patch of grass in the middle of the city.
A few days ago I decided to run a contest in the community, based around the community theme of course, and have got 75 Hive in prizes up for grabs for the best entries. It's a simple concept, a post on a particular topic I've set with a few guidelines to follow and it ends soon, 1030 UTC time Friday 26 May, so about twenty four hours from when this post was published.

There's already been a good number of entries, some excellent post for sure, so feel free to head over to the Outdoors and More community feed for a look if you're keen.
I've managed to persuade someone to do the judging for me which will be done immediately after the contest entries close and the winners will be announced the following day and will receive their prizes immediately also.
If you're keen to have a look, have a few scenery images from natural places and know how to write two hundred and fifty words, there could be a chunk of Hive coming your way...but you have to enter first of course.
Remember, go here for the contest announcement post, and keep an eye on the deadline, no late entries will be accepted.

I'm going to have to start visiting and posting to this community more. My wife and I do a lot of camping in the summer, so I am usually taking all kinds of photos from that. I feel like my entry was kind of lame compared to some of the photos I have, but it was more recent and it felt better to use that content versus old stuff.
It wasn't lame man, none of the entries are. They're all just individual to the author and I appreciate them all...Boomy has a difficult job in 24 hours! Better him than me, which is why I cajoled him into doing it. (There wasn't much cajoling in truth, I threatened to dox him if he didn't do it...ok, not really.)
Feel free to use this community for your camping stuff, 4x4, fishing, equipment posts etc...anything outdoors oriented and that happens in natural places.

Beyond the results, sharing my photographs and of a place I love so much was a great enjoyment. I'll be looking forward to a new contest and I'll be here sharing the places I go to with great pleasure!😀

I must have missed that post. Too late for me, but it sould be a really good bunch of entries from people. I can't wait to see who the winners are.
Too late? Twenty four hours to the deadline mate. Although, if you're not in a position to write a 250 word post with a couple suitable photos in that time, I get it. People get busy. No matter, maybe next time.
If they don;t have to be something current, I can see what I can dig up and submit. That wouldn;t be a problem at all. If it has to be something current that might be a different story.
Have a look at the contest post for the guidelines so you get it right, but the photos can be from when the dinosaurs walked the land if you like, as long as they are scenery pictures, nature.

Yeah, I not allowed to drive because of my medical shitHave to depend on others and work around their schedules. Would have loved just to get in my truck and go this morning to the state park to start taking some pics. The lake would have been great right now with the sun coming up.
Anyway, the cool thing is I have lived a lot in my life, so have some pics I just need to dig up...from who knows where...haha...that may be an adventure in itself.

They are for sure...That's what I had in mind when I thought up this contest...I wanted to see scenery from all over the world and let people showcase their home location's scenery or the places they've travelled.
