I do a lot of hiking and in remote wilderness areas and I love the thrill of getting off the tracks, having to rely on my navigational and map reading skills...it's a good way to sharpen them up and I often find places few people ever go. It's very rewarding.
I've heard good things about Portugal and would like to go there, it's on my list. I'll do some wandering for sure.
