I'm usually an open book and will talk about anything if asked, but usually only if it's friends or family. Other times when asked something stupid I can kind of gauge if the person is being genuine, or just being a prick.
My partner's dad bought a rifle recently and we're going to head out to his friend's land and do some shooting, I've never used one before so it'll be interesting to find out how it goes.
Also, when you were talking about not loving tools, I was thinking of Anchorman.

I can be quite open also and in the same scenarios as you mention although there's limits and boundaries.
