Another day, another fresh start. A few weeks ago, I was so busy preparing for our exams that I barely had time to relax, let alone exercise. Those weeks were exhausting, and it made me realize how long it had been since I last worked out. Now that we’re on a two week semester break, I decided to make the most of it and get some exercise.
A friend of mine wanted to join me for a run, and I agreed it’s always more fun when you have someone to share the experience with. We planned to wait until it got a bit brighter, but by 5:30 a.m., it was still dark. Instead of waiting, we decided to go ahead and run anyway.
It was our first time running in the dark, and honestly, we were a little nervous. There weren’t any vehicles or people around, and we spotted a few stray dogs on the street. I’ve always been wary of stray dogs, especially at night, since some can get aggressive.
But surprisingly, it turned out much better than we expected. As we ran, we saw a few other people jogging too, which made us feel safer. The dogs we encountered were actually really sweet and well-behaved. That gave me the confidence to keep going.
I stopped by and rest at near of the sea and wait for the sunrise.
It was great to see others exercising, but I noticed that most of them were older adults. These days, it feels like the younger generation isn’t as active as before. With all the technology we’re surrounded by, it’s easy to forget to take a break and get moving.
I’ve also noticed that many of my fellow students struggle with basic physical endurance. Some even faint or collapse after being exposed to the sun for just a short period of time. It’s not even that hot, but they can’t seem to handle it. Our mentor even mentioned that our batch is the only one where several students fainted during community service, like the Clean-Up Drive.
This made me realize how important it is to take breaks and prioritize physical activity. Exercising regularly not only helps your body stay strong and resilient but also prepares you to handle different challenges. Plus, getting some sunlight is good for your health it helps your body produce vitamin D, which strengthens your bones and muscles, boosts your immune system, and even improves your mood and sleep quality. So, start your with an early morning run!.
