Let's get 'em!
Talk about tight lines and bent rods - this got crazy. The line was so tight that the wind was making it sing, and right after I got mine pulled in, two of the Little-Peppers had successful hook sets and laid into some excellent panfish.
I wasn’t sure what had grabbed my nightcrawler off of the bottom, and the possibilities certainly vary, Eventually, when I finally got it up to the surface, I saw that it was a nice sized Flathead Catfish, which explains why it fought so hard and stayed so deep for so long. As soon as I had my boy Monster Truck net it and get it onto the dock, the next pole went off.
Red-Pepper tied into an impressive Shell-Cracker, also known as a Red-Eared Sunfish and hoped up onto the guard rail to reel it in. While she was battling her panfish, Bugger hooked a Bluegill and reeled his prize in. The panfish have both fins and scales, so we like eating them, but the catfish lacks scales, so we like to release them.
So much of going fishing can be just waiting for something to bite, so when three poles go off in a row, it’s an exciting time for sure! It's times like this that memories are made. Enjoy the show!
