Well, not many photos have been taken lately with the Canon 5DSR. Although things still look beautiful this time of year when the snow starts melting fast, it isn't always photogenic. I've been outside a ton lately with Quill dog. I've had my Canon camera with me in the backpack. But I just haven't been able to find many scenes that would look great as big prints on a wall.
Not a problem, I have been able to take full advantage of the conditions by using my new backcountry cross country skis. As I said in a previous post, I am a brand new beginner. Really, now I am a somewhat experienced beginner. Quill and I have been getting out about every other day since the skis were purchased a few weeks ago. Between having an initial lesson and watching many YouTube videos on the subject, my skills are getting a lot better. Trial and error helps too, the school of hard knocks... We've even gotten to the point where Quill is comfortable doing a bit of skijorning. He doesn't pull much but when he does, it's a blast!
If you ever get a chance to try cross country skiing, I would highly recommend it. Snowboarding was always my thing in the past but this is a great way to get away from the ski hill crowds and enjoy the snow in solitude. I swear I will post some new landscape photos soon, but for now, here's some Quill dog photos shot during our recent adventures.
Thanks for looking. I hope you are all getting to enjoy a bit of outdoor time too, cheers!

On behalf of all the Finnish kids who were forced to ski every winter: You can keep the cross country skiing 😝
HA! I grew up in Los Angeles, no cross country skiing there. Quill and I will happily keep it now, thank you. Cheers!
Awesome shots here dude! I love cross country skiing as well, though I’ve only done it twice. Snow shoeing is more our thing right now as it’s a lot easier to store them but maybe next year or the year after I can get some skis and go out with my son. It’s great exercise and you get to cover lots of beautiful territory for sure!
Thanks, what a ton of fun it is! I hope to get out again this afternoon... My 20 year old snowshoes have taken me on many many adventures, but these definitely speed things up and make back country travel a little more exciting. I would highly recommend it as a family sport with your son. Cheers!
I'm sure you enjoyed your time with your pet. I have never done country skiing before and I don't even know what is feels like hahaha.
Also, you have got nice pictures
He's a good dog. I hope to get out again today, so much fun and totally worth trying if you ever get the chance. Cheers!
I love enjoying time in untouched nature, I think there is nothing better.
I also love skiing and occasionally I've also gone snowboarding, but I must confess that I've never done cross-country skiing, I guess it's fun I'll have to try it sooner or later.
The photos are beautiful, it shows that you and your four-legged friend are happy, they are images that give wonderful sensations, thanks for sharing them!
It is the best! I am very lucky to have so many incredibly beautiful areas to go near my home. The cross country skis have been great for seeing more scenery on our little adventures. Glad you liked seeing the photos. Cheers!
Looks nice. Taco Truck lager was a new one on me. I looked it up. Snow is mostly gone here. But still some at elevation which is more like Truckee.
Taco Truck has been a favorite lately. A lot like Corona but much better. And just like Corona, it tastes much better with a little slice of lime. Usually, it's a summer time flavor for me, I might be daydreaming a bit when I sip it. Wishful thinking...
Glad you're starting spring, cheers!
Living the life, Scott! Living the life. Everything looks perfect: the dog, scenery, snow. I should visit you some day.
Any time @mrprofessor! It's certainly not perfect up here but darn near close. Hope all is well with you.
