After some time innawoods I have determined either on actual cutlery and a good fixed blade knife, or a good fixed blade knife and whatever I whittle expediently, if I bother. There isn't much I can't shovel into my mouth with a good knife, after all.

There could be a real advantage to carrying some antique silverware made from (or at least plated with) real silver for that extra anti-microbial bonus! And I do like my stupid-big Ka-Bar "zombie killer sword" for work in the woods.

I have used the Ka-bar to chop wood. They are stupid big, and stupid useful.
