If you are not getting the plus then it may be a problem with the api you are on, you can try switchin api's on both peakd, and on hive keychain to see if it shows up.

It really depends on time of day, day of week, and your provider as to which one is working the best. If you keep getting error messages the easiest way to find the best API is the peakd benchmark, it is kind of slow, takes about a minute and a half sometimes longer for me, but lets you know the api that is best, and the ones having errors.

Like I said it can be slow at times. Also to avoid any conflicts I always make sure that my hive keychain is set to the same as my peakd one. I am at a total loss however when it comes to using the hive.blog site.

I switched to anyx.io but the [+] is still not there.
Oh and I just guessed you were using keychain or hivesigner, and not peak-lock, you do need to use one of those sign in methods, as you need your active key to make one, just like @hivepeople said.
Actually, You cannot create a new Hive Community using HiveSigner. I asked the dev, plus i helped someone else with this exact issue.....HiveSigner doesn't work.
Thanks, I was unaware of that fact, so I do appreciate the help there. I know peak-lock will not work, and just guessed Hivesigner would. I myself use hive Keychain, and have had no issues with it.
You must use Hive Keychain in order to create a community. Please tell me what browser, what key login method you're using and if you're using peakd.com. You must use Peakd.com and Hive Keychain AFAIK.
Ive got the community created now, using wallet.hive.blog/@username/communities
