What is Engrave?

Custom domain in two steps
Using custom domains was possible with Engrave for a long time. But you had to deal with registration and DNS records on your own. I want to make the Engrave experience as easy and smooth as possible, so I designed the Domains Marketplace.

1. Find perfect domain
Finding the best-suited domain couldn't be easier - type an interesting phrase and click the "Search" button. We will suggest multiple options with multiple TLDs. Please choose the one (or more!) which suits you best and reserve it with a single click. It will appear on the "Your domains" list with the "Awaiting payment" status.
We support over 500 TLDs, including non-standard one like .beer, .diet, .pics, .bike, .technology, .live and so on. You will definitely find a domain for you.
The registration price depends on the domain TLD, and you can decide which one is interesting for you. Just have in mind that you register the domain for a year and want to renew it after this time.
Take renewal price into consideration - sometimes, it's better to pay a little more for a much smaller renewal price.
2. Pay for it using HIVE or HBD
When reserved, the domain appears on your domains list. You will see two buttons which will redirect you to Hivesigner with ready to process payments template. Just authorize the transfer, and you're done.
Few seconds after the payment, your reserved domain will be automatically registered and configured to work with dBlog. A few seconds later, you can start using it and connect it to your blog. Engrave will also automatically generate SSL certificates so your readers could securely access your blog. It is designed to be effortless, and it is.
Connect it to your blog
Visit your blog settings, add a newly registered domain and save it. That's it. Your blog will be accessible immediately under a new domain.

Very cool. This is something I'm going to have to dig into and learn more about. I have a photography web page that I'd like to integrate with my blog that I'd like to also integrate with building my hive community. There's loads of potential in intentional design and systemizing creative efforts to maximize the outcomes.

You don't need to worry about anything - just log in via Hivesigner, create a new blog, buy or configure your own domain if you want and everything is ready to go :)
I found engrave amazing, it's easy to find my site by just typing it into a browser. Not only that, but I also love how it displays my articles or blog.
I'm just wondering if the outsiders or guest would be allowed to comment in the future to come? You know even if they can't vote, the feeling of someone can say something since this a site. It's nice I think if it could be possible.

Its a real product, good. so we do actually own the domain and can use it to host any website we want or only a engrave blog? do we have full and complete control of the domain? thanks!
Right now you can only use it withing Engrave but in the future, you will be able to generate auth code and transfer the domain to your preferred registrar and do anything you want to do with it.

The renewal cost is usually much higher than the registration cost and it depends on TLD. I mentioned it in the post:
HIVE price is pretty low at the moment, so 25 HIVE is actually a discounted price for the domain. Also, we're acting as a reseller and adding only a few percent to the prices we pay (to cover the risk of variable token prices).

Regarding the possibility to set up my own domain already registered, do you already have in mind a simple way to allow the set up in an easy way?
There is no easiest way to do that without transferring the domain to our registrar (and it's much more complicated and cost an additional fee). Setting up two DNS records is the easiest and fastest way. If there could be a better solution, I would love to integrate it :)

Thanks! Currently, there is no way to ad Google Ads, and the ability to buy custom domains will not change anything on this matter. I may put it into my TODO list but I'm not a big fan of ads at all, to be honest. I believe Hive and its monetization system is the solution to get rid of ads from the internet!

That was the main idea behind this project and its features. If you want your blog to look more professional, you always need to cover some costs. You just described dblog.org ;) It's basically a blog (website) powered by Hive (shows Hive posts). Try it out, it's free - just log in, create blog, select your domain and theme, import your posts and give me some feedback ;)
Right, the only difference is I need quite a bit of space to keep the show episodes online..
I upload 4 hours of content a month (mp3 or any audio format).
Ill go check it out now, but is there a limit to the amount I cna upload? Or will the episodes stay there indefinitely (so that people can listen to the podcast on apps?)
