This proposal is to fund Hive Plug & Play, which is now a HAF-based app for customizable streaming and parsing of custom_json
ops on Hive.
The development node is available on https://beta.plug-play.imwatsi.com/. It is still under heavy development and is not yet suitable for use in production.
Proposal
210 HBD per day
6300 HBD per month approximately
Breakdown of fund usage:
privex servers
- 2 Dedicated Servers (Development and Production) for public HAF/Plug & Play services: $500 per month ($130 + $120 setup fee x 2)
- Development costs (I am the main developer, but I plan to onboard a frontend developer for the website and example implementations of HAF-based Plug & Play)
- Administrative costs: I plan to hire a dedicated admin and support person to handle Plug & Play onboarding and setup for clients
Summary of what I'm offering the community:
- A public, Plug & Play HAF node
- Database schema design services, to populate custom tables if needed
- Endpoint design to retrieve custom data sets Hive dApps need
- Subscription-based streaming of
custom_json
ops - Help with setting up your own HAF node with Plug & Play
- Support for the universal
custom_json

Current status:
- Current code is on GitHub: https://github.com/imwatsi/haf-plug-play
- Current HAF sync script (still basic, functions for syncing plugs are still WIP): https://github.com/imwatsi/haf-plug-play/blob/master/haf_plug_play/database/haf_sync.py
- I'm working on SQL functions to maintain tables and state of individual "plugs" or Hive dApps data sets
- I'm also designing the backend to support the subscription service offerings
Roadmap:
- Q4 2021:
- release V1, with a few sample implementations
- put a website up to handle developer onboarding
- pursue the onboarding of Podping (I think @brianoflondon's creation will be a perfect use case for Plug & Play)
- Q1 2022:
- release v2; with subscription-based services
I run a Hive witness node:
- Witness name:
imwatsi
- HiveSigner
- Witness name:
I've supported! Bit of a hard task to get this over the line in such a short time, but hopefully it will happen.
I think you're building the kind of tools which help a wider community of developers start using Hive. I still haven't fully grasped what HAF is going to do but I'm sure we need it!
Much appreciated

I like that the code is open source. Some developers may want to self-host this HAF app.
Yes, it's all open source and customizable
I like the idea, regarding Hive community and further development.
Lots of development going on behind the scenes and HAF accelerates the development of Hive dApps. Plug & Play aims to make it easy for dApp developers to access streams of
custom_json
data.Glad you like the idea :)
