Hive Engage is a Hive app that helps the user reply to comments and posts that may concern them and are less than 7 days old (before payout time). It is made by Arcange who is a top Hive Witness and also created the #HiveBuzz gamification project for Hive.

Primary features
The primary features of the app are the following:
- Comments feed. This shows all replies to every post or comment of the user.
- Mentions feed. This feed shows all other Hive users' posts and comments where the user is mentioned.
- Followed feed. This feed shows all posts on the user's Followed feed.
- Communities feed. This feed shows all posts on Hive communities that the user follows.
The user can directly reply, vote, or both reply and vote at the same time on every comment or post listed on any feed. When the user presses any of the "Reply", "Vote", or "Reply and Vote" buttons, the command is processed, the content is removed from the feed, and the next content on the feed gets loaded immediately.
The following will no longer get shown on any particular feed listed above.
- Any post or comment that already got a reply from the user, either using Hive Engage or any other Hive blogging frontend.
- Any post or comment that the user crossed out ("ignored") on Hive Engage.
- Any post or comment coming from Hive accounts that the user filtered out ("ignored"). The Comments and Mentions feeds have separate independent filters ("ignore lists"), so filtering a Hive account's content on the Comments feed won't filter that account's content on the Mentions feed, and the other way around.
- Any post or comment that is more than 7 days old (or after the time the author and curator rewards having already paid out).
Additional features
The other features of the app are the following:
- Templates. This is like "Snippets" on both #Ecency and #PeakD, where the user can quickly insert saved text on the comment editor on Hive Engage.
- Filtered authors and mentions. These filters contain Hive accounts which are filtered on either the Comments feed or the Mentions feed, and are handled separately.
- Managers. This is where other Hive accounts can be added and used to reply to content on the feeds, provided that #HiveKeychain or #HiveAuth is configured to grant access to any added Hive account.
- Settings.

This is where the user can change their favorite Hive blogging frontend (choice between #Ecency, #PeakD, #HiveBlog, or #InLeo), language (English and 6 other languages), account settings (toggle displays of Followed Feed and/or Community Feed, "strict mode" which toggles adding to feed content without the - Refresh inbox. This simply refreshes the feeds. This is useful when the user replies to comments using both Hive Engage and at least one other Hive frontend at the same tim.
- Reset comments. This resets ignored comments, causing them to show up again on the feeds.
- Dark mode. This changes the backgrounds to gray and black, and makes the text white.
Some feedback
Here is my list of recommendations for the Hive Engine app.
- Allow users to increase the 7-day limit of comments and posts on feeds. If increasing the limit will use up a lot of computing power, this can be a limited feature where it may be used only a few number of times per day per user, or require payment to use.
- Make app free and open-source (FOSS). This will allow any user with technical knowledge to host the app, thus making it a proper dapp (decentralized application) on Hive, and will also take off some of the computing workload on Hive Engage's servers.
- Make the "Dark Mode" theme more eye-friendly. Make the dark theme more comfortable to the eyes (just like the dark modes of #PeakD and #Ecency are).
