This post lists down the DBuzz dapps for Hive as of January 8, 2025 (UTC), whether they are working or not.
A platform qualifies as a "dapp" if it is intended for end-users (the "app" on the "dapp" name) and can be hosted by anyone with sufficient technical knowledge (the "d" on the "dapp"). Many Hive users already familiar with the DBuzz microblogging platform and Hive community may not yet realize that there are several dapps under the DBuzz "umbrella".
Fully working dapps
These are the DBuzz dapps that are generally fully functional with little issues.
- DBuzz - The DBuzz microblogging platform which is the "flagship dapp" of the project and was the original plan of @chrisrice.
- DBuzz Blog - The "long-form" version of the DBuzz microblogging platform.
- DBuzz Chat - A decentralized, end-to-end encrypted chat platform using the security and convenience inherent on Hive accounts. A fork of PeakD Chat.
- Join DBuzzHiveonboard. - A platform which allows the creation of free Hive accounts using the @dbuzz Hive accounts' Account Creation Tokens claimed from Resource Credits. A fork of
Partially working dapps
These are the DBuzz dapps which have accessible frontends, but with major issues in the backend which prevent them from working properly (or at all).
- Support DBuzz - A webpage which helps Hive users quickly vote on the latest DBuzz proposal. Users trying to vote will see an error that voting on expired proposals is not allowed.
- DBuzz Explorer - A Hive block explorer. A fork of Hiveblocks. Platform is clearly under development.
- DBuzz Messaging - An end-to-end encrypted chat platform using Hive accounts, private active keys sending 0.001 HIVE or 0.001 HBD with memos encrypted by private memo keys. Not a fork of PeakD Chat. There is a problem with the website's TLS certificate which prevents the user's web browser from connecting securely to the site.
- DBuzz Beta - The "beta" version of the DBuzz microblogging frontend where some updates from the "nightly" version are tested longer. There is also a problem with the website's TLS certificate.
- DBuzz Nightly - The "nightly" version of the DBuzz microblogging frontend where new updates are tested first. The website shows a loading page that never finishes loading.
- DBuzz Lite - Another "nightly" version of the DBuzz microblogging frontend where the Metamask login and Ceramic integration are being tested. The website is unable to load any data from the Hive blockchain.
Non-working dapps
There are the DBuzz dapps whose both frontends and backends are not accessible.
- DBuzz Autovote - A platform where Hive accounts can be set to automatically vote posts of certain other Hive accounts and follow curation trails. A fork of HiveVote.
- DBuzz Dex or DBuzz Market - A decentralized market for the DLUX token, DLUX NFTs, and SPK. A fork of DLUX on Honeycomb by disregardfiat.
- DBuzz linkYourls. - A link shortener that is restricted to shortening links only for whitelisted Hive blogging frontends (such as #DBuzz itself, #PeakD, #Ecency, and #HiveBlog). A fork of
Other
- Most of the DBuzz dapps above are free and open-source (FOSS) and can be found on their GitHub repository.
- The #Retzark game (which is currently under development), even if being developed by the same the same dev team that maintains the DBuzz dapps, is separate from #DBuzz.
- Based on the recent @dbuzz Hive account posts, @nathansenn is still the Lead Investor and @aashirrshaikh is still the Lead Developer of the DBuzz dapps. The other development team members (either former or current) are @riyuwe, @coffeebender, @gacbaluyot, @iamjco, @k3mpz, and @missdarkstar.
- A list of the latest DBuzz frontend issues has been published 5 days from the original publication time of this post.
- Tagging here some Hive users who liked replied to my previous posts (most of which have also published posts on the DBuzz main frontend), which are @svanbo, @atma.love, @iceledy, @rzc24-nftbbg, @tydynrain, @borniet, @kenny-crane, and @pepetoken.

I already belonged to the #DBuzz guild on #Splinterlands when I decided to stop playing the game. 🤔
Joining a more powerful guild comes with additional responsibilities though, such as regular DEC contributions to the guild where we can't even directly get DEC from battles. 🤯

Perhaps without joining the Guild, I would have stopped also playing the game, not because of the frequency of wins/losses but due to the low incentive. In joining Dark Assassin, earning MERITS and SPS helped me grow my account and strengthen my cards.
