That unexpected maintenance lasted almost 3 days, mostly because I struggled with storage space as HiveSQL database size is growing every day and now exceeds 3.3TB (terabytes)!
3.30 TB is a lot of data, and it will be much bigger in the upcoming years and decades. Hopefully the new server will be good for at least the upcoming few years. Probably this single comment is also increasing the database by a few kilobytes. And a lot of things are being registered on the Hive blockchain. I would not be surprised, if the database size would be doubled in the near future.
I wish good luck and all the best with (and thank you for) the maintenance and with/for the development.
Have a nice day. All the best. Greetings and much love from Hungary.
Thank you @xplosive.
Yes, it's a lot of data, mainly because of the way usernames and permlinks are stored and indexed in the various tables.
The database stores 6 years of data. I hope this storage upgrade will last another 6 years. But I should wish for less if I also wish for the growth of the platform.
Hava a nice day too.
