Today as I was walking down the street I saw a scene that deeply moved me that In front of a small restaurant on a corner a dog was sitting quietly his eyes fixed on the people coming and going as if waiting for a bite or even a loving touch this scene was simple yet full of emotion to the point that I stood still and watched the unfolding event.
The dog was clearly tired and hungry yet he sat politely not pacing or chasing anyone just waiting so he was following every movemet and whenever someone left the restaurant carrying something his eyes would lock on them for a moment then he would lower his head as if he had lost hope that people were walking by some saw him and ignored him while others seemed to have completely ignored him.
In the midst of all this a man came out of the restaurant clearly seeing what I had seen He paused for a moment then returned to the restaurant and a minute later he came out with a loaf of bread with some chicken on it He called the dog and threw it the food Here the scene changed completely.
The dogs eyes were filled with joy It quickly ran toward the food but before it could finish eating it raised its head and looked at the man as if thanking him Then it began to eat greedily This moment was wonderful It made me realize that there is still goodness in the world and that kindness does not have to be big things it can be as simple as a small bite for someone in need.
I think this scene made me realize that compassion is not just between humans but also with animals who cant speak but who feel and know who has a compassionate heart and this dog was just one of thousands on the streets but his gaze spoke volumes It told me that he was in need waiting for someone to see him Thank God today he found someone who saw him and that was enough to make today a good day not only for the dog but for me as well.
