The Lady In Red

Todays old drawing is the lady in red. Some seriously wild hair was going on here and I have no idea why. This is another piece from well over 10 years ago. I think it was part of my practice sessions on trying to draw the human figure.

There is quite a few different female poses and bodies I attempted to draw and I will put them up as I come across more of them.
I plan in the future to come back to some of these pieces and try to recreate them, solely to see if my skills have improved over the years or not.

Drawn using a 2B pencil as is normal and some colouring pencils I picked up after I got bored of just doing pencil sketches without being able to add colour to any of my works.

As can be seen, my colouring skills leave a lot to be desired but I did practice loads so hopefully future pieces may look a bit better.

The lack of eyes do put me off slightly, as I attempted a nose and mouth, but just left no eyes which is odd. I am unsure why I did this, but I'll assume I was focused on the body form more than anything else at the time.

The arms also seem a bit odd but they look like placeholders that I aimed to go back to at some time. This was found in my finished works sketch pad so I guess the arms were going to stay like that forever.
