For Him
With all the determination she had within her, Kri'ja told herself to board the vessel. She very nearly did, but fate had other plans. She found herself stopping suddenly as seemingly unconnected facts began to fall into order in her mind.
The look of disgust on her mother's face when she warned her not to get any closer to that human.
The coldness in her father's eyes when he informed her of his choice of a training center on the furthest possible outpost for her to resume her education.
The brief look of pity in the eyes of the household manager as she made the arrangements, never once facing Kri'ja as she did.
She wasn't in danger of bonding with Human Ry, the bonding had already begun. They wanted her as far away as possible to minimise the risk of her feeling his life force abruptly extinguish when they disposed of him. And that would happen in moments, knowing her family's penchant for efficiency. Faster than she could possibly run, ride or fly to that ridge to warn him.
As a lower ranking member of the royal family, roughly 100 other princesses would have to die before she took the throne under normal circumstances. But on that day, something abnormal happened. After several millennia of failed attempts to selectively breed extra sensory abilities back into the Queendom, Kri'ja spontaneously manifested The Knowing.
Perhaps all she wanted was a surefire way not to let her lover die but what she got instead were all the secrets of the universe going back to the beginning of time. And in the face of such greatness, she found herself more powerful than ever yet even less free to love and be loved. There would be time for tears about that later, though.
She immediately sought the minds of the assassins sent to kill Ry and canceled their orders. Then she reached into Ry’s mind and erased all memory of her and filled the space with feelings of peace and hope and just a little bit more of everything he might need to survive.
Then she commandeered the spaceship and headed for the home planet to take her throne.
The End
It's not exactly a happy ending, but at least nobody died 😃! I'm sure if I keep writing these, eventually I'll be ready to write romance with happily ever afters, etc. A girl can hope.

Kri'ja is something. She has all these powers, and she choses to sacrifice everything to save her lover...
And now, he won't even remember a single moment they shared. He'll survive, get married, start a family, live a really good life and die peacefully of old age surrounded by people who love him. And she will be happy for him from a distance but have a much longer and less happy life.
