”The discipline of gratitude is the explicit effort to acknowledge that all I am and have is given to me as a gift of love, a gift to be celebrated with joy.” - Henri Nouwen
Welcome to Graturday Week Twenty-One!🎉
It's Grunday again 😅…circumstances beyond my control led to this post going out today rather than yesterday. My apologies.
If this is your first time here, this is what this giveaway is about: every Saturday (unless I'm late enough for it to be Sunday) I invite anyone who happens to stumble upon this post to share something they feel grateful for. Aside from getting the chance to express your gratitude, you could win one of the prizes.
What prizes?
🎁 1st Gratitude Comment gets 100 Ecency points
🎁 2nd Gratitude Comment gets 90 Ecency points
🎁 3rd Gratitude Comment gets 80 Ecency points
🎁 4th Gratitude Comment gets 70 Ecency points
🎁 5th Gratitude Comment gets 60 Ecency points
But why gratitude?
Because gratitude is great for you. Being grateful can yield all sorts of benefits, including:
- More restful sleep
- Better focus
- More patience
- Improved self-esteem
- More positive moods
- Stronger relationships
- (And many more)
And that's just from a scientific perspective. If you look at it in terms of the energy you put into the world and what you'd like to have returned to you, gratitude can encourage more good things to come your way. You don't have to believe it just because I (or anybody else) said so. Try it yourself with Graturday 😉. Here's how:
The Rules
- Leave a comment on this post about something you feel grateful for.
- Comments can be any length as long as they clearly convey what you feel grateful for.
- You can't pick everything or everyone, so narrow it down to something or someone specific.
- You can't give the same comment more than once in a month if you want your entry to be eligible for prizes. (But if you want to mention something multiple times per month alongside new things you feel grateful for, that's fine too.)
- You don't have to upvote or repost to enter, but if you do, just know that you have my gratitude for that.
- You have until next week's Graturday post goes up to enter for this week ⏳.
What am I grateful for this week?
Panadol Cold and Flu non drowsy! I'm not feeling very well (decent chance I have a mild case of Chik V) but those pills have really improved my quality of life right now. The headache is gone and the sore throat is manageable. I may not be 100% better yet but I am so, so grateful that I don't feel as bad as I did. Because I seriously felt like 💩.
Okay, now it's your turn! Please join in and let me know in the comments what you felt grateful for this past week.
Have a Great Graturday!

I was waiting for your post, good timing again, 2 minutes this time 😁
Today it's cold, 2 degrees but the sun is shining, paying for our electricity with our solar panels.
Going for a walk with my daughter in about an hour, grateful I can spend time with her ❤️
I too am grateful for my solar power and the time I get to spend with my son. Congrats on your excellent timing, you got this week's first comment in and won 100 Ecency points 🥳!
I am grateful that I was able to all the task needed this week
It's always good when we have enough time for everything 👍 Congrats, you made this week's second comment and won 90 Ecency points 🥳!
I want to thank, that yesterday, I had the opportunity to help people who were locked in an elevator, when there was an electrical fault that lasted for hours. And really, it was very nice to see the calm face of those people when they came out of the absolute darkness of the elevator car. So, I thank muco to God and to life, for the opportunity to be useful to others, in the necessary moments.
Thank you very much for this contest.
Happy Sunday.
