The world has really changed from what it used to be. Employment work in the past made sense because people could earn a good living and the value of the currency was good. I asked my grandfather about how life was when he was, and he said it was ten times better and ten times less stressful.
He kept saying ten times and I realized the value of most currencies have dropped over ten times since his time. Maybe Money and economy getting worse is what has made working a bit more stressful.
Maybe this explains why Gen Z workers struggle a lot in traditional jobs nowadays. A lot of them lack motivation and I can't blame them. They saw how companies treated their parents, with job cuts and very low security and that made them less eager to trust traditional work paths. I am not working on any company, I work with my dad at his shop and my pay is good because I use it all for myself. I have no plans of working for any other company because of this same thing Gen Zs are going through.
Another thing I've seen is that communication styles differ between Gen Zs and company owners nd managers who are much older.
Gen Zs grew up using texts and social media, so they may find talking in-person in the office harder. The 2020 COVID pandemic added to all this by limiting in-office training, which caused gaps in their professional social skills. They'd rather do a zoom meeting or groups chat than face to face talking.
But I think the most important reason why I see many Gen Zs get fired at work is that they value work-life balance and mental health more than the older generations did. They hate stress and don’t want to work extra hours or be available all the time. So managers see them as less valuable to the company and when it's time to layoff people, it's most likely going to be the Gen Z workers.
