Yesterday I found out that my grandmother fell in the bathroom, losing consciousness, injuring her head, and injuring her ribs. A very common story. In her situation, there could've been multiple causes, including dehydration (quite likely, as she lost a lot of fluids due to gastrointestinal issues), cardiac, neurologic, etc. She refused to go to the hospital the morning that it happened, and I was worried and furious beyond belief. Later in the evening, she started screaming in agony due to pain in her ribs. Se was finally convinced to go to the ER< where fractured (but non-displaced) ribs were found, and there was a normal head CT. There are a bunch of missing pieces here which I wanted to look up on her patient portal, but the website is giving us trouble in opening it, so we're unfortunately going to have to bother the doctors about the results once we get to the hospital. I understand what it's like to be the one answering a lot of questions which could otherwise be accessed, hence why I wanted to see the information beforehand - and cut the conversation only to the necessary bits. I do respect the medical staff's time, having been on both sides.
Anyway, I'm jotting this down quickly as a bit of rest because I already know she's safely hospitalized there, and I'm just coming off of a long, but not busy, night shift. I've been up since 5 p.m. last night (it's now 12 p.m.) with a brief nap overnight.
Going to grab a snack and head over to the hospital.
This is officially the start of my vacation time. There's a augh to be found there, but I'm not quite in the mood for jokes until my grandmother feels better. We'll joke about this later.
Please send only good vibes. 🙏

Extended Hospital stays are never fun, especially through the night. Thank you for being there for your grandmother. !BBH

Thats really scary, she can't be alone and thats for sure something hard to do with old ladies they don't accept help sometimes.
Hope she be good soon
