I appreciate your perspective on life and feel you have a very well rounded perspective on what matters and what is more trivial.
It's great that you approach teaching/learning from different "angles", and you harbor an innate ability to discern how much it will matter in the future for your children, which is the mark of a great dad. ❤️
I have to admit - it's a relatively new perspective. It's amazing what life-altering news will do to ones outlook on life.
We have a football (not sure if you've heard of Aussie Rules - AFL - that football, not soccer!) team here in Adelaide called the Crows, and a few years ago, their coach was murdered by his son. I remember seeing this group of young players who were having a pretty good season, suddenly walk onto the playing field with blank looks on their faces. The rest of their season that year was pretty average, maybe even dismal, but I had this sense that sport suddenly took a backseat for them because they'd seen life through a different lens - one that had altered their perspective on what really mattered.
It's a good place to be in as it really feels as if the trivial things that most people worry about are no longer able to cause unnecessary stress.
