RE: A Follow-Up on Post Curation for Copied & Sourced Content in the FreeCompliments Community

I agree with everything...

100% vote and excellent job. We absolutely should reward posts that are more original and have work in them along with if needed any citations.

Our community does need anti-abuse however that really should be done with ourselves and our own curation trail and down the power. Only when needed should have watchers step in if ASKED to.

The new rules implemented by any community do not override Hive ecosystem guidelines.
If some community decides to perpetuate spam of effortless copypasta and farming on it (as the above community had already engaged in doing), it will likely have consequences.

Ah, it seems like someone didn't read the post. 😉

Let me point out the relevant portions:

and:

If you look carefully, you'll see that we changed our curation to exclude posts that purely copy and paste content. We've demonstrated that we're willing to make changes, and that we actually show some respect for your effort. On the other hand, it appears that you're unwilling to reciprocate.

The new rules implemented by any community do not override Hive ecosystem guidelines.

I'd like to point out the word "guidelines" and contrast it to the word "rules." Upon entering Hive, people are not exposed to guidelines unless they happen to come across posts that delineate them; and even then, there are disagreements. For instance, you exceed your purview by following your own self-created "guideline" about the value of content provided to Hive. If you personally think that a post is not providing value, you "blacklist" it by classifying it as "spam" etc. In that sense, you're bending the "guidelines" to your personal opinions. Whether this represents a majority of cases, I can't say, but it does represent some portion.

Now I'll reiterate that before you start attacking our users, allow our community to have a discussion, as we did this time. We both want what's best for the community/blockchain, even if we disagree on what that means. Let's work together instead of against each other.
