Best one I have now is the Garrett ATX. There is a newer one that is supposed to be even better, but I haven't been able to get out much this last couple year to justify buying something a lot more expensive.
That's a nice one. I've got the Minelab Equinox 800 but can't say I'm entirely happy or successful with it. I got it used but still the pricetag was pretty high.
Nota bad detector, the reason I went with Garrett is it can pick up gold nuggets as small as 0.1 grams, and is submersible. Not that I've ever used under water, more just in case a big wave rolls in at the beach! The price tags on good detectors is ridiculous, the higher end stuff is well over $3K.
Do you do any metal detecting or prospecting these day? I've been thinking about putting together a prospecting community, I'm just not sure how many of us there are on Hive.
