Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanotvi Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) used to have an incident where he was in Delhi and some of his servants were with him.

Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmud-ul-Hasan Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) and other disciples of Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmud-ul-Hasan Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) were also there. Maulana Ahmed Hassan Amrohi Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) was sitting among his companions and said, “Bhai.” The Imam of the Lal Kunwe Mosque has a very good recitation. If we offer the morning prayer behind him tomorrow, Sheikh-ul-Hind Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) would get angry and say, “Aren’t you ashamed, you shameless person? He makes takfir of our Hazrat. We will offer the prayer behind him.” And he adopted a very harsh tone. These words reached the ears of Hazrat Nanotvi Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him). The next day, Hazrat Nanotvi Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) took all these students to the same mosque to offer the morning prayer. He went behind this Imam and offered the prayer, greeted him, and then asked who he was.
It turned out that this was Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Qasim Sahib (may Allah have mercy on him) and his student, Hazrat Sheikh-ul-Hind Maulana Mahmud-ul-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him), Muhaddith Amrohi, was his disciple.

The Imam was very surprised that I called him a disbeliever day and night and he came after me for prayer. The Imam himself came forward and shook his hand and said: Hazrat! I used to call you a disbeliever, today I am ashamed, you offered the prayer behind me, although I called you a disbeliever. Hazrat said: No problem, I value this passion of yours in my heart and more respect has increased in my heart, why?
Because the tradition that reached you that I insult the Prophet, this was the requirement of your religious zeal. Yes, of course, the complaint is that the tradition should have been investigated, but in any case, the basis of takfir is insulting the Prophet, and any Muslim who insults the Prophet will be subject to takfir and will be excluded from the circle of Islam. So he said, "I value your religious zeal in my heart."
Yes, the complaint is because once you have investigated whether the news is true or false, I have come to submit that this news is false and I myself consider the person who insults the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) even in the slightest degree to be outside the circle of Islam. And if you do not believe me, I will accept Islam right now on your hands.
“I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.”
Now the Imam fell at their feet. So the point was simply that “humility to Allah” and “politeness with Allah” had been so ingrained in the hearts of these men that there was no trace of selfishness. They did not mock and ridicule themselves, they did not belittle even their enemies, but rather, they took it to the right level and said that those who call us infidels are proof of their strength of faith. However, it should be investigated whether we are actually insulting the Messenger?
Are we, Allah forbid, the enemies of the Messenger or the friends of the Messenger? It was their duty to investigate this, and they should not issue orders without investigation.

So the purpose of my submission is that politeness and manners are the foundation of religion, which the sage Rumi (may Allah have mercy on him) has said: ☜ We seek from Allah the grace of politeness. ☜ The impolite are deprived of the grace of the Lord. ☜ There is no place in the presence of Allah, the Almighty, for he who is impudent and impolite.
