My Rage In Living Color (Poem) | Mixed Media Art Project for The FreeCompliments Weekly Art Contest

My Rage In Living Color

It's not often I'm transposed.

For I hide it deep within my bosom.
in the cold, dark recess
I call my "soul".

To the bottomless depths,
I sometimes retreat.

Reserved I've become. No. Demure.
So demure that no one can decipher my rage.

In living color it dwells within my written words.

To bring brightness where none dare shines,
in order to temper the beast within.

But sometimes; Sometimes.

I can't control.

The rage rises.
I'm no longer able to temper the beast.

Should I own it?
Or...Should I deny, deny its existence?

For in denial, this rage, my true self can't emerge.

In the beginning, it was difficult.
So difficult in fact that tears were required
to replace the anger.

To allow my inner being to be exposed.
Others will shy away,
not understanding or realizing,

It is I.
Oh, humorless one can't you see.

It is I.

No harm will come to you.

It's just that I was created with a different blend
than you.

My tones can't be defined in the hex box of hues.

But after twenty-five years, I've learned to control
my thoughts and actions.

I'm not a monster.
I never was
.

Just a different shade of consciousness.

Trying to live out my existence
while controlling my,

Rage in Living Color.

The inspiration for my current mixed media art project came from a stable diffusion image I retried from StarryAI. I could feel in my spirit it was time to delve deep within my dramatic. I envision beauty with drama so that I could infuse it with dark.

Below are my steps for the design of the butterfly.

Text input:
"Large ethereal and beauty butterfly full bodied facing sideways and front in blue."

Style: Fantasy

Of course, my designs wouldn't blossom without my pure fractals that I create in the advanced fractal rendering program, Apophysis 7X. The fractal I chose was a flower design that resembled a web. The other images I included in my design lent credence to the theme of conflict between outer world and inner.

Pure Fractal titled "Leaf Bundle in Pink and Green" ~ Pure Fractal titled "Universal Swirl" ~ Scary female ~ Sci-fi ball - Contributed to the #LIL by @pinkgirl4 ~ Pink rose ~ Angel white wings.

To blend the various images, I uploaded all to Canva, my design program. With Canva, I have access to tools that allow me to begin with a blank, canvas, then layer my images in order to duplicate, colorize, filter, draw elements, resize, and reposition.

I shared above a poem unveiled itself as I looked at the blossoming butterfly that revealed a deeper meaning than the surface. Instead of the colorful flutter of wings, a more sinister being emerged. Thus, I added a truly hideous image to give a face to pain and show what was behind the serene beauty.

I share with you my completed project.

You went DEEP with this one. I bet everyone who reads it can relate. Well written and I felt your words.

Like my mother, bless her parable oneliner soul, used to say, "if it's in ya' it's gotta come out! one way or another." I prefer to write.

Thanks so much for your visit. I'm not sure whether I'm pleased you can relate. But happy to hear you can. That just goes to show that no matter how hard we strive to shine in the light, we all share a sliver of in between on some basic level.

Take care and have as good of the rest of your week as you can.

I would guess a large percentage of people could relate.

I would too the way the world has evolved.

As someone who has learned to live with "in your anger, sin not," and who has found ways to productively use my anger against injustice, I love this on so many levels!

Yes, we either learn or succumb. Our basic instincts for survival are to adjust and channel in other directions. Thanks so much for your visit and kind compliment for my project. I appreciate it and your support. Take care.

When I saw the image, for a moment I traveled back in time to October 31st. You talk about an internal struggle with anger and the difficulty of controlling that inner beast you carry within. The idea of hiding that part of oneself, relegating it to the depths of the soul, is something that many of us can relate to.

At pivotal points in our lives, we all work to sort out some type of issues. It's how they are resolved that count. Nevertheless, there are some issues I feel are inherently unable to be resolved to a satisfactory conclusion. In those cases, we do the best we can to "live with our demons".

Early in life I didn't understand when I heard someone being described as "marching to his/her own drummer". I think I've always been on the southbound train going north.

Thanks so much for your visit and analysis. I appreciate it. Take care and have a good rest of your week.

@topcomment

Nice and relatable poetry piece. We're sometimes slaves to our own emotions. It's difficult to control them completely, but it's great to try. 💙✨

Yes, it's difficult to control @tegoshei. I've spent a lifetime contemplatig the issues. I appreciate your visit and kind compliment for my project. Thanks so much for your support. Take care.

!LADY

Indeed it is... And I think there's no need to completely control it. We need to express it to feel better. You're welcome and have a good one. Take care, too! 🥰✨

You know, you are 100% correct. I do my best work in the shadows. lololol

!LADY

Hahaha... I'll be cheering for you from afar, then!!! 🥰✨

Oh Wow...I could use another cheerleader. Thanks so much for the Follow. I appreciate it. It's late for me, so signing off. Take care.

No worries... Sleep well... 😴✨

This image is just what your described but sometimes I think is difficult to keep the inside part of someone, the environment we find ourselves makes it a bit difficult

You know @beauty197 what you say is so true. It's difficult to contain the struggles due to our external selves and the environment we operate in. But we do what we can. Thanks so much for your visit. I appreciate it. Take care.

Your are always welcome, I appreciate you too my beloved 💞

Life is busy so it's a good way to collect such beautiful things to make something beautiful.

Yes, @djbravo life is surely busy if you allow it. There are items that must be taken care of. Then there are items that are not necessary. And there are items that are just for fun, such as hobbies. You have to decide which one you want to fill your life with.

Thanks for your visit. Tare care.
