I picked up my Asahi Year of the Dragon round from aubullion.ca in their downtown Vancouver retail outlet. They are new here so I thought to give them a try. No retail space, just a small room with a few Teller windows.

These are after all, primarily a website business.
I enjoy the old Western coin shop in Richmond where it's several kms over the bridge south of Vancouver. A small building with barred windows, double security doors, the proprietor buzzes me in with a smile to welcome me in. The shop appears disorganized, few of the coin display cabinets matched and some needed fixing. The counters lined around an disorganized organizing table full of stuff. A box of misc base metal coins selling; 25 cents each, 5 for a buck. A Shoe box sized Rubbermaid container filled with cheap old banknotes. An old cash register on a corner counter, amazing vintage piece that still works. Free coin magazines, a box of misc coin capsules next to a stack of worn catalogs. And let's not forget the old dog half snoozing at the entrance to the back room.
Thousands of coins.
And 1.5 sq ft dedicated to bullion products.
Charming atmosphere.
