Pain & Suffering

Learning is not child's play; we cannot learn without pain.

Aristotle

There are times when all a man can do is feel pain. This is important in the life of every living creature but suffering is a state of mind and also a choice. Because while you feel pain you might not see it as suffering but rather a way to learn something new and therefore evolve from where you are to where you are going to.

Whichever way you see pain and suffering they are both needed to learn more about this world. But if you don't go through the pain you can't learn the most important lesson needed to end your suffering.

I once had a conversation with a friend who thinks life can or should be lived without pain or suffering. My response was if the man who invented the light bulb didn't go thru the pain of failure and kept on trying so he could learn how to do thing better and get thing right then we'll all have to live in darkness.

You see, suffering is a choice that only you can make in order to move past where you are to the next level. Reason is that most of the time we think the next move we are about to make might end up with us feeling pain, which might be right. However the light that's at the end of the tunnel is what our focus should be and not the pain or suffering that we are going thru.

To make it simple pain is biological while suffering is emotional and happens all inside your tiny head.

I once see pain as suffering but both are not the same which makes it really hard to explain to anyone who is not trying to learn something new everyday. When you fail, you feel the pain but in order to keep thing again to need to ignore the voices in your head telling you to stop and instead keep going.

It's not an easy task but for anyone hoping to move past his pain body and liberate him or herself from the suffering of daily living and existence you need to learn how to ignore the noise and focus on how to keep learning from every experience, decisions and mistakes that come along your way.

Life is not a bed of roses nor is it about living in pain or suffering all the time but trust me you can't do without going thru it all. And if you do avoid pain and suffering that's also another form of pain. But we'll talk about that later.

In short don't think you can learn without going thru the pain of learning. Experience is always the best teacher if you really want to make it thru because everyone else might not be in the same shoe as you. So how will you learn from others when you don't live like them nor are you like them.
