Choices And Consequences

I'm going to write a story called A Son's Journey

So one day this young man was hanging around his group of friends and while hanging with them they ended up committing a crime. So the young man is about to go to prison for 15 years, and his father always told him if you ever go to prison don't expect me to write you call you or even put money on your book.
As a child that was drilled into the young man mind so when he committed the crime that was gonna put in prison for 15 years the young man literally thought that his father would forget about what he use to tell him growing up.
So when the young man was on trial he got founded guilty so the young man turned to look and his father and his mother hus father told him we're hear from you when you get out. The son had this confused look on his face, because for some weird reason he thought his father was joking.
So the young man said to himself if my father won't send me money he figured his mother will. So the young man tried to call his father and mother and he never gotten an answer so he would try to write them and still no reply.
8years passed by an the young still hasn't heard from his parents.
One day the young receives a letter from his father and the letter read dear son I told you I would not write you but I figured I owe you this I jusg want you to know that your mother passed away and the next time you hear from me again is if someone else pass away or when you get out p.s I love you and keep your head up.
The letter was so short that the young man broke down in tears he was mentally drained and felt beat up.
Time has passed and the young man still hasn't talked to his father in almost 10 years, so within those 10 year the young man started to grow hatred toward his father because he felt like his father was the reason why he couldn't connect with his mother.
15 years has rolled around now it time for the young man to get out of prison, when the young man got out he was gonna take all his anger and aggression out on his father because he felt like his father deserved it.
The young man friends have come to pick the young man up from prison, so the young man and his friends hung out they talked, laughed and joked around but the only thing the young man could think about was his father.
The young man has so much bottled up that he wanted to express himself to his father so can feel good about himself, so the young man decided to leave the little get together that his friends had for him so that he could go and call his dad because he wanted to tell his dad that he has a bone to pick with him. As the young man grabs the phone to dial his father number the phone rings and the father answers, the first the young man says is I have a bone to pick with you.
Then the father says you could have atleast ask me how im doing before you tell me you have an bone to pick me with me, so the son responds with well you didnt care about how I was doing so why should I care about you.
The father says well you cared enough to call, then the son respond and said yeah because I wanna tell you how I feel. The father interrupt and says and say well I don't how you feel I wouldn't have never called you.
So the son gets mad and says you suppose to be my dad but okay where you at right now the son asked the father, the father replies im still in the same place you grew up at and im always gonna be here and you know the address.
The son replies back ok well here I come right now, the father replies back and say ill be here waiting and the phone hangs up.
So the son get into the car with his friend and the drive over to his dad house once they arrive the son gets out of the cars and goes and knocks on the door the father yells the door is open the son proceeded to walk into the house with and angry look on his face but when he looks over at his father his father is sitting in his chair comfortably with his tool in his lap so the son face expression went from angry to cautious.

The father speaks and says I know you mad with me but have a seat the son looks at his father and say well im not going to be here long, the father looks up at his son and say didnt i tell you to have a seat. The young man sits down and the father ask him so now tell me whats on your mind.
The son sits up straight and look his father straight into his eyes and say how can you allow my mother not to speak to me the whole time I was in prison you suppose to be my father that's my mother how could you do this to your own child now I have to deal with the pain of not ever seeing my mother because of you.
The father sat quietly and let his son get everything he needed to get off his chest, so when the started to speak he said son you did this to yourself I told you every since you was a little boy if you ever go to jail or prison that I wasnt going to support you because me supporting you in that cage only mean I support your behavior to put you in that cage because of your behavior and if I would have sent you some money or everytime you called for me to be your therapist or write you letters telling you that you're not alone. that will mean im not holding you accountable for what you did, when you chose to do the crime you didnt think you was gonna get caught trust me I understand but when you chose to do the crime you chose to take yourself away from us.
He said so think about it if you would have never did the crime you would have been here talking to your mother if you have never did the crime me and your relationship would have been better if you would have never did the crime you could have been somewhere in life by now but you chose to take the easy route and now you have to deal with the consequences the father continued to say son only smart people hold themselves accountable and ignorant people look for sympathy the father says you are not going to get any sympathy from me because i didnt raise you to put yourself in those type of situation.
The son say well dad I get what you are saying but it wasnt my fault.
The father say son it always your fault cause you put yourself in that situation.
The son say my friends really committed that crime I didnt do nothing.
The father say son didnt me and your mother use to say you if your friends jump off a bridge are you going to jump off behind them what did you tell us son.
The son say I said no because im not a follower.
The father says you chose to hang around those no good ass friends of yours you knew they wasnt no good when you fisrt met them but you continued to hang with with them, so the father told his son he said no leave me my house because i cant trust you and take accountability the day you do that is when the day you became a man.
The son knew his father was being 1000% right.
The father say son I still love you ill support you when you become a better man but not when you make bad decisions.
The son had a tear dropped from his eyes and said dad I love you too.
As the son turns around to walk out the door to get back in the car with his friends he took a good look at them and realized that these are the same friend I went to prison for and not one time did they reach out or anything and sat in the back seat he thought to himself that since he been locked up for 15 years that they was still doing the same thing running the streets and out of that 15 year young man felt like his friends should became something by now that when he realized that they are not his friends so when he friends dropped him not knowing that young man wasnt going to hang around them ever again.
Young man started holding himself accountable for all the decisions that he made he became a mentor for young women and mens to help get them back on the right track, young man then found him a good woman and created multiple business and all the dudes young man use to kick it with they say man you acting funny you dont kick it with us nomore "why?" Young man say I lost 15 years of my life when I got out I chose to be something, you wasnt even locked up and you wasted 15 years of your life and you still running the streets you aint trying to become somebody or atleast have a job.
