Hello everyone, welcome back to Ramadhanight's Hive Blog on Splinterlands Socmed Challenge. Today, I would like to share a strategy on back to basic but without magic ruleset, let's check it out !

Back to Basic Ruleset

Back to basic is a ruleset, that cause all monsters to lose their ability. So on this ruleset, only stats that is matter. This mean all melee monsters only attack from the front (except with summoner buff that give reach), and the range can't attack from front (except with summoner buff that gives close range ability).
Without any ability, then the magic are the most usefull monsters since they can attack from anywhere, and could hurt through the armor.

Lost Magic Ruleset is The Problem

Now we know that magic is effective on back to basic, but how if magic is not allowed ? This mean that we can only use range and melee monsters. With their limitation of attack position, I tried a strategy that only focus with 1 range damager, with supports of lots melee monsters that offer better stats. Can it works ?

I will give you a battle example of the use those abilities on the battlefield.

Ruleset :

The ruleset is as I mentioned there is back to basic and lost magic, and we also got the reverse speed ruleset here. There is 25 mana cap which is quite tight, and only death splinters are unavailable.

And here is the formation of both team !

Even without any magic monsters, I decide to go with GM Rathe Summoner for the armor use, and he also give no speed addition which is become negative effect on the reverse speed ruleset. I put 3 rmelee monsters with quite high stats and armor, plus the non damager for tank use as well cause he got high health point, then there is 2 monster with range damage (1 of them just to fill the slot, the other 1 is the main hitter). Meanwhile, my enemy try to debuff the range damage with his summoners, and go hard with the tank, followed with a decoy monster and 2 range damager.

How the Battle Goes

At 1st round, both team shares damage and no one is eliminated, but my tank is left with just 3 health point left.

My tank eliminated at 2nd round, and at the end of that round, both front monsters left with just 3 health points.

As both front monsters are eliminated at 3rd round, now we left with 4-3 situation at the end of 3rd round.

Now at 4rd round, my enemy lost 2 monsters, which left him with just 1 monsters that can't attack from the front. We knew who the winner already, right ?

Yap, it's a great victory for my team !

Conclussion

At back to basic ruleset, magic is having advantage cause they can attack from anywhere, while the melee only can attack from the front, and range only attack from the back and become unable to attack from the front. With lost magic ruleset addition, we need to carefully pick the team, and having more melee than range is giving more advantage cause melee monsters are often offers better stats performance (damage, health point, and armor). Get some hitter on the back, and then protect them with tough melee monsters in front of them, and you might get higher chance of win on that ruleset !
