BE ANGRY BUT SIN NOT
BIBLE TEXT: Genesis 4:3-7; Ephesians 4:26
KEY VERSE:
The Almighty Jehovah said unto Cain, Why are you wroth? and why is your countenance fallen (Genesis 4:6 )?
CONTROLLING THOUGHT:
We cannot allow anger to control our hearts and lead us to sin. Let's be quick to hear but slow to act.
INTRODUCTION
Anger: this is a strong emotion; a feeling that is oriented toward some real or supposed grievance as Webster Dictionary defines it.
Anger is very dangerous. It initiate wrong attitude which can result to death like the One seen in our case study. Cain and Abel we're blood related, yet Cain killed Abel.
MAIN DISCOURSE
Though anger is a normal and perhaps, unavoidable human emotion. Therefore, everyone becomes angry at one time or another. Our anger is often stirred up when we witness mistreatment to us, our friends or unfair outcomes in the lives of loved ones. It is inevitable that we will become angry when people hurt us, but we cannot allow anger to control our actions and lead us to sin.
We should exercise self-control that would refrain us from problems. You maybe right in what you are thinking, but what will happen if you do it in your own way?
Instead of being quick to anger, we can be quick to hear but slow to speak, let us turn our anger over to the Lord.
Allow the Almighty Jehovah to avenge for you as the Bible instructed in Romans 12:19
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, said the Lord."
If you don't apply wisdom, something terrible will happen to your regret. See how Abel died due to the anger of his elder brother of equal parents.
Learn a lesson from God's treatment on Esau, the murderer. Refrain from anger. Don't allow your anger to over stay its duration. Don't allow it to turn to wroth. Be angry, but don't sin, don't allow yourself to a situation of regret. May the Almighty God help us.
DECLARATION

Lord Jesus, I come to You a sinner. I ask that You forgive my sins. I accept You into my heart as my Lord and personal saviour. Thank You for saving me, in Jesus' Name - Amen.
PRAYER
Dear Father, please be merciful with us when we are overwhelmed by anger, it is a dangerous emotion if allowed to get out of hand. We ask for your help as we turn our feelings of hurt and anger over to you this day. In the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
