๐ŸŽš CENTRAL TRUTH:
Be amongst the remnants that will stand firm to the end.

๐Ÿ“– BIBLE TEXT:
2 Kings 2:19 -25.

๐Ÿ”‘ KEY VERSE:

"Thus saith the Lord, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land" (2 Kings 2: 21 b)

๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ COMMENTARY
The land was barren on all rounds. Evident in different parts of Nigeria - north or south, is excruciating poverty written on the inhabitants, whereas their habitation is the richest in Africa. Yet 63% of Nigerians are multidimensional poor; criminality thrives as the fastest money-making venture. There are cases of people sleeping at embassies after selling their lifetime acquired assets at giveaway prices to migrate. Young adults, including teenagers, are so desperate to make money that they engage in all sorts of despicable acts like cultism, prostitution, evil sacrifices, cybercrime and so on.

The water, as we read, was such that it caused miscarriage and death instead of giving life. A case similar to the observation of the Late Prof Dora Akunyili who fought against fake drug producers and sellers in the country. She discovered that people packaged poison as drugs and sold the same to unsuspecting patronizers, which led many to their untimely grave. The question is, does what come out of you give life or death? In our text we also saw that despite the outlined situation of the city of Jericho, there were remnants that defied the negatives and leveraged on the positives. They believed that a day would come that they would get a permanent solution.

In the same vein, irrespective of the evils going on around us, believers in Christ are encouraged to keep their hope alive. Our Master is still on the throne. He will proffer a lasting solution to all our problems in His time.

๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฟ PRAYER
For the sake of the remnants, Oh God do something great and glorious in our time.
