This weekend I went to see a contemporary art exhibition organized by the Blast Art Lyon collective, whose Facebook page you can find here:

It's a free exhibition, open until March 1 2025, where 64 artists exhibit on the theme of myths, idols and divinities, often in the form of small altars.
The original concept is that you are given offerings at the entrance (dummy tickets, flowers, pendants) which you can place in front of the works you like best (you can go back for more if you run out).
The site is also home to the Magonia exhibition, which is permanent but rarely open except for school groups, and is currently open in parallel with Rituels.
I'd like to offer you a series of photos of the works in Rituels that I liked best, and that do something for the picture, which isn't easy.
The report is therefore not exhaustive, nor does it include works I didn't like for personal reasons.
I note the artists' names below the photos when I know them.
One work reminded me of HIVE - I'm sure you'll recognize it!
The Predator and Dragon were made from scooter fairings.
It's a family exhibition and there were lots of very enthusiastic children giving their offerings.
Some of the artists were there to explain why and how they had created their work, which was very interesting, these people are really passionate.
The last photo is of a team game called Iggdrasil, which is played with runes. In the audience there was a young girl who seemed to know them and mentioned their names, which struck me as so extraordinary that I then assumed she was suffering from a mental disorder.

IGGDRASIL BALANCE GAME
GAME RULES:
Restore balance to the World Tree in two stages of play.
First stage, cooperative play:
All players, in no predetermined order, must slide all the stones one by one towards the center of the board, while maintaining the balance of the suspended board as much as possible. The edge of the board must be level with the “golden” mark on the uprights of the support.
Second stage: team play (minimum 4 players):
Players choose whether to be Ases (gods) or Jötunn (giants). The Ases stand at the tree's roots and foliage, while the jötunn face the runic patterns to the right and left of the tree. Next, a jötunn begins the game by sliding a first stone towards the outer circle of the board. Then, playing in turn, the jötunn will try to unbalance the board, while the Ases will try to restore it. The direction of play is clockwise, and players from both groups must alternate. The game ends when all the stones are placed at the edge of the board.
Aces' victory: the board is balanced, level with the “black” markers on the uprights. Bonus, if the board is level with the “gold” marker. The game is double won.
Victory for the jötunn: if the board is not balanced, choose a god in the next room and pray to save the world....

C'est une exposition gratuite, ouverte jusqu'au 1 Mars 2025 où 64 artistes exposent sur le thème des mythes, des idoles et des divinités, souvent sous la forme de petits autels.
Le concept original est qu'on vous donne à l'entrée des offrandes (billets factices, fleurs, pendentifs) que vous pouvez placer devant les oeuvres qui vous plaisent le plus. (Vous pouvez retourner en chercher d'autres si vous êtes à cours)
Le lieu accueille aussi l'exposition Magonia, qui est permanente mais rarement ouverte sauf pour les groupes scolaires et en parallèle à Rituels elle est ouverte en ce moment.
Je vous propose une série de photos des oeuvres de Rituels que j'ai préférées et qui rendent quelque chose en photo ce qui n'est pas évident.
Le reportage n'est donc pas exhaustif et ne figurent pas non plus les oeuvres que je n'ai pas aimées pour des raisons personnelles.
Je note le nom des artistes en dessous des photos quand je les connais.
Une oeuvre m'a fait penser à HIVE, je suppose que vous la reconnaitrez !

C'est une exposition familiale et il y avait beaucoup d'enfants très enthousiastes à donner leurs offrandes.
Certains artistes étaient présents et expliquaient pourquoi et comment ils avaient réalisé leurs oeuvres, c'était très intéressant, ces gens sont vraiment passionnés.
La dernière photo est celle d'un jeu par équipe appelé Iggdrasil qui se joue avec des runes, dans le public il y avait une jeune fille qui semblait les connaitre et a cité leur noms, ce qui m'a semblé tellement extraordinaire que j'ai ensuite supposé qu'elle était atteinte d'un désordre mental.

IGGDRASIL JEU D'ÉQUILIBRE
RÈGLES DU JEU:
Rétablissez l'équilibre de l'Arbre-Monde en deux étapes de jeu.
Première étape, le jeu coopératif:
Tous les joueurs, sans ordre préétabli, doivent faire glisser, une à une, toutes les pierres vers le centre du plateau, le tout en conservant au maximum l'équilibre du plateau suspendu. La tranche du plateau doit être à hauteur du repère "doré des montants du support.
Deuxième étape, le jeu par équipe (minimum 4 joueurs):
Les joueurs choisissent d'être parmi les Ases (dieux) ou parmi les jötunn (géants). Les Ases se placent aux racines et au feuillage de l'arbre, tandis que les jötunn se placent face aux motifs runiques à droite et à gauche de l'arbre. Ensuite, un jötunn commence le jeu à glissant une première pierre vers le cercle extérieur du plateau de jeu. Puis, jouant chacun son tour, les jötunn chercheront à déséquilibrer le plateau, tandis que les Ases devront tenter de le rétablir. Le sens de jeu est dans le sens horaire et les joueurs des deux groupes doivent s'alterner. Le jeu se termine quand toutes les pierres sont placées en bord de plateau.
Victoire des Ases: le plateau est en équilibre, à hauteur des repères "noirs" sur les montants du support. Bonus, si le plateau est à hauteur du repère "doré". La partie est alors doublement gagnée.
Victoire des jötunn: le plateau n'est pas à l'équilibre, choisissez-vous un dieu dans la pièce d'à-côté et allez prier à la sauvegarde da monde....
