Re 420 in SA: The laws are a bit of a shitshow at the moment: It's not illegal (for private use)... but you're not allowed to buy or sell. So if you're in a "private space" you're allowed to smoke (if everyone else around you consents).

It's kind of similar in Belgium, although I don't think it would be tolerated if you would do it on the terrace of a bar.
By law it's forbidden, but police tolerates it usually if it's for your own usage.
