Sometimes Just Trust Your Heart

Source

I usually have a better outcome when I make decisions with an open heart. It is as if my heart can tell me what is best for myself and direct me to choose wisely.

There was a time in my life when I had to decide between two job offers. The first was a secure, lucrative role, and the other held that kind of possibility. I was torn. It felt more practical to take the safe job, but it just didn't sit well with me.

One night, I laid there thinking about it, not just in my head but with a rawness from within. I pictured myself at each level and thought about what would truly make me happy. Therefore, my heart went towards the risky job. And it was terrifying like that, but it felt akin to being home. I decided to go for it.

And that move was a game-changer for me. Hard, yes, but also just as expanding and delight-rousing in ways I never knew. It was a safe job and good money, but nowhere near personal growth or fulfillment.

What I have found is that when I come from a place of open heart, those decisions tie more closely to who my true self is. So this is a way that I am not only picking up what looks good on the paper but also what exactly feels right in my soul. And trust me, I was the last person in this world to believe that and actually act on my wild feelings because they don't seem logical or safe. But this has proven to me over and over that my heart is typically right.

Listening to my heart feels as though I have access to a more profound level of what I really need and want for myself. This helps me to make decisions, which is not only the solution to my practical problems but also to those emotional and personal questions.

If you ever have to make a decision, listen to what your heart is saying. Sometimes it will just take you to the road of your true path.
