Each time you sponsor somebody for HSBI, you also receive a unit. In effect, you are curating them for regular support, and then you earn your curation share in the form of pending upvotes on your own content. Most members with over 1000 HSBI have done a lot of sponsoring. You can look up any account in the User Info page and review their sponsored versus enrolled history.
