It's another busy week, but being busy is also good, isn't it? I only worked for two hours today, so I got the whole afternoon off. Because of that, I could make something for The FreeCompliments Weekly Art Contest.

In this art, I used watercolor and words, so I hope you enjoy it. I call this piece, SOLITUDE.

SOLITUDE

Sunlight basked the land with hope
Opulent landscape covered the slope
Little did they know, a once hopeful tree there stood
Intricately burning away, still hoping to be understood
Though solitude can sometimes be comforting
Under the light, everything seems distorting
Drifting further and further into the abyss
Endless journey under the light... Oh I long to dismiss!

There is beauty in solitude.
I love my alone time, and despite doing stuff by myself at times, I feel happy and content. I consider it my simple joy.

Ironically though, some people feel lonely despite being surrounded by others. Despite being under the spotlight, they don't feel happy, and every day gets heavier and heavier. It's sad... but it does happen. This feeling makes them feel like leaving the life they have, or sometimes (unfortunately) even worse.

Anyway, let me share some progress shots of the artwork.

I prepared my materials. This time, I used a 10x15cm watercolor paper and my solid watercolor.

I made a simple landscape background. I just played with various colors like yellow, orange, red, and purple.

Then, I drew a single tree. This single tree was inspired by my favorite P-pop group's (SB19) newest song DAM, which was released the other day.

I placed some greens in the foreground, then placed my username, date, and signature using a green gel pen. :)

Lastly, I took out the masking tape around it.
And that's it for my artwork. Upon looking at the finished artwork, I decided to write a poem inspired by it.

Oh, I soooo love this damn song!! And what a nice poem too.. Sometimes solitude allows us to learn about ourselves and it empowers us to become who we are...just like meditation..
