Some Heavy Metal, But Not Music, It's Copper!

in FreeCompliments9 hours ago

I have always had a passion for collecting coins since I was young. My father liked investing in silver coins and I picked up the habit from him I suppose. Over the years I began to pick up some gold items when I could afford them as well. But one item I had never thought about investing in was copper. The only copper I had was from old pennies and some raw copper I had found while gold prospecting. A few years ago I picked up a copper bar from another collector because I didn't have one, and I figured copper will always have value, of course not as much as much rarer metals like silver and gold.

Have a look at it, it's a pretty bar produced by a well known German company:

At one hundred ounces it is a hefty item, a pretty one as well. Over the last several years copper has been increasing in value. It likely will continue to go up although not nearly as dramatically as it's silver or gold counterparts. But it is much less expensive to invest in as copper is far more abundant than the other precious metals.

Geiger Precious Metals

Geiger has been around for a very long time starting in 1218 in Leipzig, Germany according to the company. They have a long history of producing high quality precious metals and are known for their purity and craftmanship. I think most of the Silver Gold Stackers have some of their items, I know I have a couple silver items from the company.

One thing I didn't really think about until today, preparing this post, is the castle they imprint on their precious metals. It's called Güldengossa Castle.

sachsen-impressionen.de

It lies a just outside of Leipzig and started as a manor house in 1285. In 1720 it was converted into a Baroque style castle by Johann Ernst Kregel von Sternbach. The Geiger family purchased the castle in 2006 and refurbished it and since then they have been using the image on their precious metals. It's a gorgeous place, I wouldn't mind owning that piece of history!

Unfortunately I don't have nearly enough money to afford a nice European estate like that one. I understand actor Nicolas Cage owns several castles in Europe and nearly bankrupted himself when his big paying acting parts dried up. I believe he was forced to sell a few of them, which couldn't be easy. There aren't too many people out there with enough cash in their pocket to buy a castle. But one can dream!

That just about wraps up my most for today. I hope you enjoyed seeing a nice hefty bar of copper, it really is pretty cool and heavy. If you have any questions or comments please feel free to leave them below. I want thank you all for all of your support, it truly is appreciated. Have a great rest of your day everyone, tomorrow it's Friday at long last!

I get my copper up in Michigan thank you very much! We have such a rich mining history up north. If you ever get a chance to visit and check it out, I highly recommend it. That being said, this is a very nice piece and Geiger is a well resected company.

There is a lot of copper up there, even the native American used to mine it there I believe. The stuff I found was in Arizona I believe. I knew a guy that had his secret copper spot where there was loads of natural copper. I used to sell them on eBay for five to ten bucks a pop to cover my expenses while prospecting for gold.

That is really cool. The mine tour was quite awesome. It's interesting how all the deposits were formed and stuff like that.

Wow “Several Castles”………😳
I would imagine just owning one castle would be extremely expensive!
100 ounces of Copper, that is a hefty bar!
A top quality brand ….Geiger, that’s hard to beat!👍😊

When you're a wealthy movie star you can afford multiple castles I guess, or not when you go bankrupt.... lol

It's a nice bar, and they aren't all that expensive unless you get the silver or gold ones!

100 ounce Gold version, that’s my kind of bar!😇👍🤗

Believe it or not... Once the Reset happens that I've been writing about, One Pound of Copper will probably be selling for 5 Cents... It's one of the reasons why I believe we'll be returning to our Old Copper Pennies...

I love Geiger products. Bars are crazy premiums though. I scrap copper and aluminum, I gave quite a stockpile right now. I need the time to melt it down into ingots.

A heavy bar, indeed!!!

Wow! That's a beauty. I have spent time in Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula and have few pieces of rough float copper from up there. I've taken photos at a few of the old mines and mining towns, it's a fascinating area.

Collecting precious metals is not popular in our country. There are no exchanges to buy and sell gold and silver much less copper. It's a good investment given the decreasing number of precious metals.

Dreaming does not cost anything, and as they say over there can also come true, maybe the gold continues to rise to the point that you can sell your collection and buy a castle LOL

I love that you collect from a very young age, to me, on the contrary, it is and became very difficult for me because of my economic situation, but it is never too late for that, I think HAHAHAHA

muy bonita tu barra de cobre, que suba de precio mucho

Say whuuut? Nicholas Cage bought castles? Dang, all that money and they buy such things. Oh well.

It's interesting that the price of silver and copper correlate well.
