Weekly HSBI and DUO Token Giveaway, One Year Anniversary!

in FreeCompliments14 hours ago (edited)

It's been one year since I stared up this little initiative giving out HSBI to help people get their accounts growing here on Hive. Since then I've added in DUO tokens and BBH tokens as well. Today I'm throwing another one in the mix, CCD tokens from the @cryptocompany ! It's one I've been investing in recently and if you have one million of their tokens staked you can earn one free HSBI a day.

I'm glad everyone is enjoying the contest, and it seems to be getting more participants every week. As long as you all enjoy it I'll keep it going. I added in a weekly fifth prize for the anniversary and five bonus prizes today as well. Before we dive in here are some highlights from the responses to last week's contest! The entry question last wee was: What is your favorite seafood?

Shrimp

canyoureheat.com

The overall favorite seafood picked this week was no surprise to me, almost everyone loves shrimp! There are so many ways to prepare them, however, my favorite is skewered on the grill with Sriracha sauce on top. Very yummy with a garlicy and hot kick them. Thanks to all of the participants who chose these yummy little sea creatures: @sylmarill , @crazyphantombr , @henruc , @ronnie10 , @olaf.gui , @monsterbuster , @angeluxx , @hatdogsensei and @pablito.saldo .

Lobster

thespruceeats.com

Number two on the list today is lobster, which is no big surprise either. There are two types of lobster, the cold water and warm water. Maine and Australian lobsters are cold water, and the ones I used to catch on the reefs in Puerto Rico are warm water or rock lobster. Both are really good, but most people prefer the cold water variety for some reason. The cold water variety has claws and rock lobsters don't if you want to tell them apart.

A great choice by @gwajnberg , @daddydog , @suisver , @whywhy , @monkmasters , @kungfukid and @blitzzzz .

Crab

pacificseafood.com

Coming in third we had crab, kind of generic and only one person specified the type Dungeness (thanks @kerrislravenhill !) Crab is excellent, my only complaint is it takes some time to get to the meat. They have some tough shells... King crab is really good as well since it's nice and meaty, but expensive. Thanks for the pick to: @kerrislravenhill , @vp-freelance , @lecia89 , @longganisan and @dewabrata .

Clams

mashed.com

Now we're getting down to people with more specific tastes, clams came in at number four. Fresh clams always taste great, although expensive as of late. There are lots of way to prepare them, and all them are good! Thanks to @silverd510 , @cositav , @ladymisa and @katriel1 for this excellent pick.

Prawns

foodandwine.com

Prawns came in fifth, and not they are not giant shrimp. Prawns are similar to shrimp but they live in fresh water and can grow much larger. Many times if you are given giant shrimp they are actually prawns. Just like shrimp so many ways to cook them up, but grilled is my favorite!

Great pick by @imfarhad , @silvertop , @alexvan and @vcclothing .

Mussels

iheartrecipes.com

Now for some more tasty shell fish, mussels. These guys are great in just about everything. I've never tried them in a recipe like above, but it couldn't be bad! Thanks for the great taste from: @flummi97 , @stekene and @lumpiadobo .

Scallops

cleanfoodcrush.com

One of my absolute favorites are scallops, just like my friend @geneeverett . These sea creatures have a lot of meat to them and can be prepared so many ways. I think my favorite method is when they are wrapped in bacon, wow, that is good!

Tuna

asiatrend.org

So many ways to make tuna, and so many different varieties and levels of quality. I love fresh tuna, it tastes so good. Much of the higher quality is sold to restaurants and then the lower quality usually ends up on a tuna sandwich. It also has been becoming very expensive as of late especially for high quality but the taste can be worth it. Thanks to @rainbowdash4l and @josediccus for this pick!

As much as I would like to feature every pick a lot of the one's picked alone don't fit in, like chipichipis by @yusmelys . Salmon surprisingly came in this category from @logen9f and oysters by @tortangkahoy . Also in here were black cod by @vaynard86 , barnacles (which are really good) by @florakese , sea bass by @doombot75 , squid by @okarun , and white fish by @holdeck2 .

One that is really good and interesting to check out is the razor shellfish or spoot is Scotland. Thanks @tengolotodo , I've only had a chance to try these a couple of times over the years!

Today's entry question: What was your favorite toy growing up?

The Giveaway

I will be giving out one prize of five (5) HSBI. Second and Third prizes will be 2 DUO tokens, the token I recently launched with @bulliontools and @bitcoinman . It offers those who stake sufficient tokens daily curation on quality posts, dividends, and a tipping bot. It also helps to onboard and retain new Hive members. At the end of the post there is a link to the white paper and where to purchase the tokens. Fourth prize is 100 BBH tokens. Fifth prize will be 250 CCD tokens. To participate you need a reputation level of at least 25 and bots cannot win. And please one entry per person to make it fair to everyone.

@alohaed is generously kicking in two HSBI to the second place winner and one to the third place winner. Thanks for you support my friend!

If you would like to be placed on a weekly reminder list just let me know and I'll make sure you get tagged each week.

@tipu curate

Thanks for the win. Fishes are by far one of my favorite, and you're right when you say that sometimes the end user who is a small retailer tends to get the low quality ones..

Finding fresh stuff is hard unless you live by the water, that was nice living in the Caribbean is you could go down to the docks and get stuff right off the boat!

!hiqvote

Congrats to the winners!

A little housekeeping first: I just realized the reason I haven't gotten pinged is that you have my name with a typo in your list: I am @curatorcat.pal not @cutatorcat.pal.

With that out of the way, my favorite toy growing up was the Spirograph, in part because we traveled a lot and it was small and light and could easily come with us, but also because geometric patterns have always fascinated me.

=^..^=

I'll have to fix that, sorry. My sad typing skills! I'm a lot more error prone now than I was when I was writing more! That's a cool toy, I've not seen one of those in years!

Just updated the post with the right info, hopefully now you'll get a ping!

I was a transformers fan as a kid, couldn’t get the big ones like Optimus Prime and Megatron but always loved the smaller ones like bumblebee, sideswipe and hound, crazy that I haven’t touched one in 40 years and can still remember the names
!BBH

My favorite transformers were actually the cassette tapes that transformed. I had galvatron, one of the cars, soundwave, and two of the cassette tapes.

I can remember one of the tapes, ravage, but can’t name the other one… was a bird i think.
!BBH

I remember those too, not the names anymore though. Then again I've never been good at names!
!BBH

I loved Transformers too, I had a lot of them at one point. I'm sure my mom gave them to the thrift store decades ago!
!BBH

Glad to see so much participation and all the winners!

What was your favorite toy growing up?

Before video games, my favorite toy growing up was by far Legos. They were much simpler kits back in the 80's and 90's, but I had some fun castle sets that were fun to play with. I liked them better than the space themed ones.

I can't believe I was the only one that mentioned squid haha

Congratulations to all winners.

My favorite toy was an RC car called "Terrenator". I didn't have it myself but a cousin had it and I loved to play with it. And as for videogames, I had a Game Boy Advance and it was my favorite too.

My favorite toy was a doll with a long hair I used to braid😊

For me, the toy that I grew up with is my yoyo, specifically the pro-yo II. I still remembered how to use it to do tricks such as walk the dog and loop the loop.

Those were fun toys, I used to know how to do that stuff too. Some great memories!

I wasn't allowed to get a gameboy/playstation/xbox so I played on the computer. Favourite game definitely was 'Runescape' 😅

I Am In! 🙃

Hmmm prolly Ninja Turtle action figures or X-Men Action figures! I’ll just say my action figure collection overall! Gotta add in Thunder Cats too!

Side note!

IMG_1072.jpeg

I wonder if everyone who told me I was crazy for saying no chance we touch ATH from 2021 this cycle believe me yet. Probably not 🙃

Also ETH will not touch its 2021 high either I’d bet this year or cycle. Bitcoin will outperform the alts as I predicted. I wish they would have bet 🙃

Thanks and congratulations for the anniversary!

I would say my favourite toy was a football (soccer). When me and my best friend came home from school and the weather outside was reasonably good, we always played soccer. I'm still in the local soccer club to this day.

Saint seya action figures 🤣🤣🤣🤣 i was hyped with that

Saint Seiya was a series of cartoons/animes adapted that was shown in Brazil on one of the 5 open television channels with national coverage. I always watched it in the late afternoon, and to this day I have a version of the game for PS3!

My favorite toy was my building blocks! My dad filled a nail keg full of 2"x 4" trimmings from a job he was working on and they kept my brother and I entertained for years. My kids played with them. They were in my nephews house when he had a house fire, and it makes me sad that future generations won't be playing with them.

My favorite toy growing up……..
I guess that depends on what you call a toy Lol!😇
My 26 inch Huffy bike was the toy that gave me “Wings” to explore miles from home!💪🤗

You can probably guess mine after the comments I’ve left on several of your posts. I was a big Lego builder. While there were really cool stuff back then, what they have available now makes the old stuff look like a pet rock.

I had a wooden fort which was cool, I had cars, soldiers and all sorts that lived and played in it.Thanks for the win and the DUO! Also a big thanks @alohaed for the HSBI, it's all very much appreciated.

there was a simple bamboo toy with one wheel, then you pushed it around pretending it is a car or a bike. It was a lot of fun, because we had a race with it. Unfortunately, I don't have the photo, and when I search for it online there is no photo like that.
