Colorful dreams

Whenever I sit down to remember those bygone days
I remember sitting on the parapet between two roofs
All the work was done in the scorching sun
When mother used to sleep after gathering us
That boy used to get up quietly and
Used to come out of that sleepy room
He used to steal peanuts from the kitchen in and
Used to eat them carefree on the parapet of the roof
Where God knows how many fairies used to come wearing colorful clothes
Whose wings were colorful
We had taken a stroll many times on those colorful wings

There was also an aunt in our neighborhood
Whose kitchen used to call us everyday
Finding faults in the food cooked by mother, we children
Used to run towards aunt's house
I miss those bygone days very much
Neither the moon comes in my dreams
Nor that fantasy-world of grandmother
In which colorful fairies swing me in their lap
I have to take care of everything
I don't know what kind of world to dreams of

Those silly characters
I am afraid that her dreams may turn colorless
I want to have the same kind of childhood
The one I have had, carefree and fearless
What kind of a sign of changing times is this
That without any sound, so much has been taken away from us
And we kept watching helplessly

Thank you so much for reading. Have a great day 😊🙏. @vikbuddy
