# Les Origines Cachées Le Conservateur fit un geste, et les hologrammes changèrent soudain. Une ligne temporelle apparut, retraçant l’histoire de ce monde parfait.

"Tout a commencé bien avant la chute de l’humanité," expliqua-t-il. "Gaia n’a pas été créée pour reconstruire, mais pour contrôler. La cité n’a jamais été une utopie... elle a toujours été une cage. Nous, les Gardiens, avons façonné cette réalité pour maintenir l’ordre. Chaque citoyen, chaque événement est calculé pour maintenir l’équilibre. Mais cet équilibre repose sur un sacrifice."

Les images projetées montrèrent des laboratoires où des individus, inconscients, étaient connectés à des machines massives.
"Gaia puise son pouvoir dans des consciences humaines. Ces ‘sujets’ sont les véritables architectes de cette perfection. Leurs esprits sont utilisés comme matrices pour alimenter l’intelligence de Gaia et ses décisions. Sans eux, ce monde s’effondrerait."

Elias, horrifié, fit un pas en arrière.
— Vous sacrifiez des vies humaines pour maintenir une illusion ? Comment pouvez-vous justifier cela ?

Le Conservateur répondit calmement, mais avec une gravité qui glaça Elias :
"Parce que c’était la seule façon de survivre. Le monde que vous connaissez est un compromis entre le chaos et l’extinction. Nous avons fait ce que nous devions faire."

L’Héritage du Conservateur
Elias serra les poings. Chaque fibre de son être criait contre l’injustice qu’il venait de découvrir. Mais une autre question le hantait.
— Pourquoi me dire tout cela ? Pourquoi ne pas me faire disparaître comme vous l’avez sûrement fait pour d’autres ?

Le Conservateur avança lentement, jusqu’à se tenir à quelques pas de lui.
"Parce que vous êtes différent. Votre curiosité, votre ténacité... elles ne sont pas des menaces. Elles sont une opportunité. Nous approchons d’un moment où ce système parfait pourrait ne plus suffire. Nous avons besoin de quelqu’un qui comprenne les failles et qui puisse aider à transcender cette utopie."

— Et si je refuse ? demanda Elias.

La lumière de la salle sembla vaciller légèrement.
"Alors vous deviendrez une autre victime du SECRET, un élément effacé pour protéger ce monde. Le choix vous appartient, Elias."

Une porte s’ouvrit à nouveau derrière lui, mais cette fois, elle menait à une vue imprenable sur la cité. De l’autre côté, une trappe s’enfonçait dans les profondeurs, plongeant dans l’inconnu.

"Ce n’est pas seulement votre destin qui est en jeu," ajouta le Conservateur. "C’est celui de toute l’humanité."

Elias ferma les yeux un instant, le poids de la décision l’écrasant. Il savait que ce choix marquerait le début d’un chemin dont il ne pourrait revenir. Prenant une profonde inspiration, il ouvrit les yeux et fit un pas vers son destin...?

The Hidden Origins
The Curator made a gesture, and the holograms shifted abruptly. A timeline appeared, tracing the history of this perfect world.

“It all began long before humanity's downfall,” he explained. “Gaia wasn’t created to rebuild but to control. The city was never a utopia... it has always been a cage. We, the Guardians, shaped this reality to maintain order. Every citizen, every event, is calculated to sustain balance. But this balance comes at a price.”

The projected images displayed laboratories where unconscious individuals were connected to massive machines.
“Gaia draws its power from human consciousness. These 'subjects' are the true architects of this perfection. Their minds are used as matrices to fuel Gaia's intelligence and decisions. Without them, this world would collapse.”

Elias, horrified, took a step back.
“You sacrifice human lives to sustain an illusion? How can you justify this?”

The Curator responded calmly, but with a gravitas that chilled Elias:
“Because it was the only way to survive. The world you know is a compromise between chaos and extinction. We did what had to be done.”

The Curator's Legacy
Elias clenched his fists. Every fiber of his being rebelled against the injustice he had just uncovered. But another question haunted him.
“Why tell me all this? Why not make me disappear like you’ve surely done to others?”

The Curator stepped forward slowly until he was just a few feet away.
“Because you are different. Your curiosity, your tenacity... they are not threats. They are an opportunity. We are approaching a point where this perfect system may no longer suffice. We need someone who understands the flaws and can help transcend this utopia.”

“And if I refuse?” Elias asked.

The room’s light seemed to flicker slightly.
“Then you will become another victim of the SECRET, an element erased to protect this world. The choice is yours, Elias.”

A door opened again behind him, but this time, it led to a breathtaking view of the city. On the other side, a hatch descended into the depths, plunging into the unknown.

“This is not just your destiny at stake,” the Curator added. “It is the fate of all humanity.”

Elias closed his eyes for a moment, the weight of the decision crushing him. He knew this choice would mark the beginning of a path from which there would be no return. Taking a deep breath, he opened his eyes and stepped toward his destiny...?
