— Grand Architect, our analysts have detected a strange phenomenon. Our banking systems are recording transactions in an unknown currency.

Solis frowned.

— A new currency? Who is behind it?

— We don’t know. But it’s spreading fast. Too fast.

In the kingdom of Ferroka, Kaelos Drak received a similar report. His advisor burst into his military quarters.

— Warlord, soldiers are exchanging their pay for SECRET. They say this currency allows them to acquire better weapons without going through our banks.

Kaelos clenched his fists. An uncontrolled currency meant a threat. Who dared challenge Ferroka’s authority over military trade?

Son pouvoir d’achat dépassait toutes les devises traditionnelles. Les rumeurs disaient que les plus influents des Cinq Royaumes en possédaient déjà.

Pendant ce temps, au sommet des tours suspendues d’Aethra, Solis Vay contemplait l’horizon. Un serviteur s’avança respectueusement.

— Grand Architecte, nos analystes ont découvert un phénomène étrange. Nos systèmes bancaires enregistrent des transactions en une monnaie inconnue.

Solis fronça les sourcils.

— Une nouvelle monnaie ? Qui en est à l’origine ?

— Nous l’ignorons. Mais elle se propage vite. Trop vite.

Dans le royaume de Ferroka, Kaelos Drak reçut un rapport similaire. Son conseiller entra en trombe dans son quartier militaire.

— Seigneur de Guerre, les soldats échangent leur solde contre du SECRET. Ils disent que cette monnaie leur permet d’obtenir de meilleures armes, sans passer par nos banques.

Kaelos serra les poings. Une monnaie incontrôlée signifiait une menace. Qui osait défier l’autorité de Ferroka sur le commerce militaire ?
