Kaelos connaissait bien Vayron, un homme aussi rusé qu’impitoyable, toujours prêt à jouer sur plusieurs tableaux pour servir ses intérêts. Mais lui aussi était candidat pour diriger le monde après le vote qui approchait. Pourquoi risquerait-il de semer la discorde à un moment aussi critique ? Était-ce une manœuvre pour affaiblir Ferroka, ou y avait-il une autre raison, plus obscure, derrière ces agissements ?

Kaelos se tourna vers son général, son regard perçant comme une lame.

— Envoyez une escouade d’élite à Nyx-Vega, ordonna-t-il d’une voix glaciale. Je veux savoir d’où viennent ces armes et qui, exactement, tire profit du SECRET. Et faites en sorte que cela reste discret. Si Vayron Krynn pense qu’il peut jouer avec Ferroka, il va rapidement apprendre à quel point il se trompe.

Le général hocha la tête, puis s’éloigna rapidement pour exécuter les ordres. Kaelos resta immobile un instant, les yeux fixés sur l’arène où les deux gladiateurs continuaient de se battre. Mais son esprit était ailleurs, déjà en train de préparer sa prochaine manœuvre. Il savait que le jeu était en train de changer, que des forces obscures se mobilisaient dans l’ombre.
