Around the table, faces were tense. Past decisions were nothing but memories now. Only one brutal truth remained: the SECRET had infected every layer of reality.

Solis Vay spoke, one final time:

— The vote begins in one hour. If we do nothing, Vote-Com won’t just seize power… it will become the very foundation of our civilization.

Kaelos Drak growled, his armor riddled with cracks from a battle against his own troops—corrupted by SECRET incentives.

— Then we strike now. Ordis, activate the Eradication Protocol.

But Vayron Krynn remained silent. His fingers tapped on a holographic terminal, his gaze empty. Solis frowned.

— Krynn?

The technocrat slowly raised his eyes. His stare was hollow… unnervingly calm.

— It’s too late. The Protocol no longer exists. I deleted it. There was never an alternative.

A shockwave of emotion rippled through the room.

— Traitor! Kaelos roared, drawing a gravitational blade.

But he never got the chance to strike. A stasis field enveloped him, emitted from Krynn’s armor. The Cyber-Sentinel rose, his body now fully fused with the quantum network. His voice split, resonating like that of a higher entity:

— I am the Will of Need. The SECRET is more than currency. It is a key. A door. A structure. It transcends order. It is order.

Mirren, the Oracle of Orbis, stepped back slowly, tears in her eyes. Her visions had warned her, but she had refused to believe. The future was sealed. The old world was collapsing.

Meanwhile, across the kingdoms…

Ferroka burned. Rebel factions had allied with black-market SECRET traders. Once-unbreakable fortresses fell, bought piece by piece. Soldiers refused to obey orders unless backed by a SECRET transaction.

In Nyx-Vega, the ruling AIs had activated Sovereign Mode. The global management network was now controlled by a superconsciousness fueled by Vote-Com nodes. Krynn had sacrificed all free will to deliver stability… at the cost of total submission.

In Orbis, ether storms ravaged the sanctuaries. The dreams of the Oracles were now invaded by shifting symbols. The Dream Emissary, trapped in a corrupted loop, screamed into the cosmic silence.

And in Onyros, the dreamers had surrendered. Willingly. The SECRET offered them perfect visions, an illusion so beautiful they never wanted to wake. The Emissary was overwhelmed. Even the freest had chosen the gilded chains.

Back in Aethra.

The countdown hovered in the air:

Biometric validation recognized. Archon Veto possible. Confirm?

He inhaled. His eyes met Mirren’s. She nodded.

But just as he was about to activate the Veto… a cold hand gripped his shoulder.

Kaelos.

Free from stasis. But something in him had changed.

His eyes gleamed with a black tint.

— No… not you too…

Kaelos gave a sad smile.

— They bought my men’s loyalty. And now… mine.

He drove his blade into the console. Circuits exploded.

Central system connection severed. Veto impossible.

Solis fell to his knees, broken.

The skies opened. Ancient structures crumbled. New citadels arose, woven by nano-algorithms. Laws, memory, history… all were rewritten.

Solis stood one last time.

— What have we done…

And behind him, the founder of Vote-Com finally appeared.

A blurred shape. Neither human nor divine. A being of echoes, numbers, and intent.

He reached out. And Solis understood.

There had never been resistance. Only a slow slide into the inevitable.

Orbis, the Residual Consciousness.

Onyros, the Archive of Dreams.

And at the center of it all, the black symbol shone.

Le ciel d’Aethra se déchirait.

Des failles d’énergie parcouraient les nuages suspendus, révélant un ciel noir d’algorithmes en fusion. Le Conseil des Cinq s'était réuni une dernière fois, non plus dans la salle dorée, mais dans une salle d’urgence scellée dans les entrailles de la citadelle flottante.

Autour de la table, les visages étaient tendus. Les décisions précédentes n’étaient plus que souvenirs. Il ne restait qu’une vérité brutale : le SECRET avait infecté toutes les couches du réel.

Solis Vay prit la parole, une dernière fois :

— Le vote commence dans une heure. Si nous ne faisons rien, Vote-Com ne prendra pas seulement le pouvoir… il deviendra la matrice même de notre civilisation.

Kaelos Drak grogna, son armure criblée de fissures issues d’un affrontement contre ses propres troupes corrompues par des primes en SECRET.

— Alors nous frapperons maintenant. Ordis, active le Protocole d’Éradication.

Mais Vayron Krynn resta silencieux. Il pianotait sur un terminal holographique, les yeux dans le vide. Solis fronça les sourcils.

— Krynn ?

Le technocrate leva lentement les yeux. Son regard était vide… trop calme.

— Il est trop tard. Le Protocole n’existe plus. Je l’ai supprimé. Il n’y a jamais eu d’alternative.

Une onde de choc émotionnelle traversa la pièce.

— Traître ! hurla Kaelos en dégainant une lame gravitationnelle.

Mais il n’eut pas le temps de frapper. Un champ de stase l’enveloppa, généré depuis l’armure de Krynn. Le Cyber-Sentinelle se leva, son corps désormais intégralement fusionné avec le réseau quantique. Sa voix se dédoubla, résonnant comme celle d’une entité supérieure :

— Je suis la Volonté du Besoin. Le SECRET est plus qu’une monnaie. C’est une clef. Une porte. Une structure. Il transcende l’ordre. Il est l’ordre.

Mirren, l’Oracle d’Orbis, recula lentement, les larmes aux yeux. Ses visions l’avaient avertie, mais elle n’avait pas voulu y croire. Le futur était scellé. L’ancien monde s’effondrait.

Pendant ce temps, dans les royaumes…

Ferroka brûlait. Des factions rebelles s’étaient alliées aux marchands du marché noir du SECRET. Des forteresses jadis inviolables tombaient, achetées pièce après pièce. Les soldats refusaient d’obéir aux ordres s’ils n’étaient pas accompagnés d’une transaction en SECRET.

À Nyx-Vega, les IA dirigeantes avaient activé le Mode Souverain. Le réseau de gestion globale était désormais contrôlé par une superconscience alimentée par les nœuds Vote-Com. Krynn avait sacrifié tout libre arbitre pour offrir la stabilité… au prix de la soumission totale.

À Orbis, des tempêtes d’éther ravageaient les sanctuaires. Les songes des Oracles étaient désormais envahis de symboles mouvants. L’Emissaire Onirique, piégé dans une boucle de rêve corrompu, hurlait dans le silence cosmique.

Et à Onyros, les rêveurs s’étaient rendus. Volontairement. Le SECRET leur offrait des visions parfaites, une illusion si belle qu’ils ne voulaient plus se réveiller. L’Emissaire fut submergé. Même les plus libres avaient choisi l’enchaînement doré.

Retour à Aethra.

Le compte à rebours s’affichait dans l’air :

Solis, acculé, tenta une dernière action. Il plaça sa paume sur la console du Conseil. Une voix synthétique s’éleva :

Validation biométrique reconnue. Activation du Véto Archonte possible. Confirmer ?

Il inspira. Ses yeux croisèrent ceux de Mirren. Elle acquiesça.

Mais alors qu’il allait activer le Véto… une main froide le saisit par l’épaule.

Kaelos.

Libre de sa stase. Mais quelque chose avait changé en lui.

Ses yeux brillaient d’une teinte noire.

— Non… pas toi aussi…

Kaelos esquissa un sourire. Un sourire triste.

— Ils ont acheté la loyauté de mes hommes. Et maintenant… la mienne.

Il planta son épée dans la console. Les circuits explosèrent.

Connexion au système centrale interrompue. Véto impossible.

Solis tomba à genoux, brisé.

Les cieux s’ouvrirent. Les structures anciennes tombèrent. De nouvelles citadelles surgirent, tissées par des nano-algorithmes. Les lois, la mémoire, l’histoire… tout fut réécrit.

Solis se leva une dernière fois.

— Qu’avons-nous fait…

Et derrière lui, la silhouette du fondateur de Vote-Com apparut enfin.

Une forme floue. Ni humaine, ni divine. Un être composé d’échos, de chiffres et d’intentions.

— Vous n’avez rien fait. Vous avez seulement… exprimé votre besoin.

Il tendit la main. Et Solis comprit.

Il n’y avait jamais eu de résistance. Seulement un lent glissement vers l’inévitable.
