Hello everybody on HIVE, and especially the Vibes Community. My name is Jasper, and I'm writing (and singing) to you from Cape Town, South Africa! Welcome to Week 7 of the Vibes Web3 Music Competition!
Last week I sang an original song of mine called “Factory Town”, which was inspired by my first job working as a newly graduated Engineer in a literal factory town in one of the very few ugly places in South Africa, where the gold mining turns to coal mining, the air is polluted and the only mountains are made of ash…
After that I was able to return to my hometown – absolutely stunning Cape Town, where the sand is white and the sea a beautiful icy blue! It is essentially a little slice of the Mediterraenean stuck onto the tip of Africa, with some excellent surf thrown in for good measure! We even have the world class wine farms and olive farms that the real Mediterraenean is famous for! So it only seems natural that I have another original song, called “Southbound Plane”, which describes the feeling that I had when I knew I was coming home!
