Season greetings to the Vibes Web3 Music Competition. Firstly, I want to use this opportunity to thank everyone in the community who said words of prayers, wished me congratulations, and sent me gifts on my traditional wedding day and registry wedding. I recently got traditionally and legally married - sealed! - and I just want to thank the community for the love.
We already know that we are in the festive season, eh, the holiday period, and the theme for this week in the Vibes community is songs related to the festive season, holiday season. And I was given a song to score in my church for our carol, and the title of the song is 'Oh Holy Night' by CeCe Winans. So I decided to go to the studio and record my cover of the song for the Vibes community.
The plan was to sing this song with my choir in church for the Christmas carol, but while going to the studio, it wasn't really possible to take my church choir with me. So what I did was to record myself singing the backup, the backing track of the song, from the second verse to the end of the song, where there were background vocals. So I did the background vocals, and then I sang the lead to make it complete.
The song was given to me by the choir coordinator in my church to score, so I could lead the choir in singing it during the carol service. I was meant to be the lead singer, with the choir joining in on the background vocals. Since I knew I wouldn't be able to take my choir members to the studio with me, I decided to record the background vocals myself. I did the background vocals, which were uniform throughout, not harmonized. After completing multiple takes of the background vocals, I then sang the lead parts. This is the final outcome, and I hope everyone enjoys listening to it.
