RE: Dream Theater - The Spirit Carries On (Vibes Web3 Music Competition week 5)

Oh man, just saw the title so far and HAD to click in. I imagine this is gonna be tough. Listening now...

... Ok you went the octave below lol, that makes more sense (more possible). It's really great! Really good control for rhythm, pitch. Nice!

Just a bit of advice from singer to singer - When you hit the higher notes, you'd be better to belt it out full volume rather than trying to restrict your volume.

Using full voice as much as possible is always the best way for this kinda song, and you'll get far more range without crackling if you blast out big notes!

Even a bass vocalist should be able to get to the E above middle C before breaking into head voice - give it a whirl and wake up the neighbours!

Sort:

I couldn't possibly use the original basic key, hahaha Labrie's voice is really high, for someone with a bass voice like me it's impossible to keep up with it, so lowering the octave makes more sense hahah. I was afraid to wake up the neighbors, they were fast asleep when I made the video hahaha, btw thank you for your comment.

Yeah I know the feeling. I have yet to find a place in the world isolated enough that i'd be brave enough to hear what my loudest possible sound would be. If so much as a mole hears me I'm too scared to try lol.

BUT, now I teach choir I have to bring it out more XD You're a natural!
