For week 21 of this competition I'm pleased to bring a song I've been listening to since I was a kid. Rod Stewart is a reference of the music of the 70's and 80's, and well, “Do ya think I'm sexy?” is one of those songs from his golden era. Something I always liked about this song is how the bass sounds, in this particular song they give it a quite distinctive sound and it has a lot of prominence in the song.

I recorded this song in record time since I don't have much time available right now, so it was an interesting challenge since at least for me it's not a song that can be played quickly and without practice, however, I must say that I had a lot of fun in the process and I liked the result, it could have been better, but I liked it.

Lyrics

Oh, nah, yeah, yeah, yeah

She sits alone, waiting for suggestions
He's so nervous, avoiding all the questions
His lips are dry, his heart is gently pounding
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking?

His heart's beating like a drum (like a drum)
Is he gonna get this girl home?
Relax, soon, baby, we'll be all alone
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking?

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, tell me so
If you really need me, just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so

Alright

He's acting shy, looking for an answer
Come on, honey, let's spend the night together
Now hold on a minute before we go much further
Give me a dime so I can phone my mother

They catch a cab to his high-rise apartment
At last he can tell exactly what his heart meant

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, tell me so (tell me so)
If you really need me, just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so

Oh yeah, yeah-yeah-yeah
Ooh-ooh
I like this, I like this, I like this

Come on, baby, spend the night (hey)
I promised to behave myself
Oh yeah, oh yeah
Yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah

His heart's beating like a drum (like a drum)
Is he gonna get this girl home? (Is he)
We'll soon, baby, we'll be alone
Don't you just know exactly what they're thinking?

If you want my body and you think I'm sexy
Come on, sugar, tell me so
If you really need me, just reach out and touch me
Come on, honey, tell me so (tell me so)

If you really, really, really need me
Just let me know, just let me know (if you really need me)
If you really, really, really need me
Just let me know, just let me know
Ah, yeah-yeah

Promotional video

By the way, I shot a promotional video related to Vibes and Hive and posted it on X, Shorts and Tik Tok.

Promotional video on Tik Tok

As I usually do, I took the original song from the official Youtube channel, edited it to make it shorter, but believe me the best part is in the presentation. I removed the original bass with the Moises application and then recorded my bass line. I hope my participation will be to everyone's liking, greetings!

How are you dear friend @musicandreview good day
With the theme you chose this week it was impossible not to stop and leave a comment
What a beautiful theme, and your bass sounds better and better, great that you recorded it despite having little time
Thank you very much for sharing this bass cover
Have a great day

It's definitely a good song, one of those that you don't hear much anymore. And well, the bass in this song is quite distinctive and striking, so it was a good choice.

It was a pleasure to share. Regards!

Yahh for this week's song the bass is so loud and really good brother @musicandreview and the lyrics are great too I love this music, have fun brother 🤩

Precisely what I liked about this song is the presence of the bass, I think it's quite strong and that's why I wanted to record it. Thanks for your support!

You are brothers, True, the bass sound is very good.

Awesome bassline and well done. Does de G-string sounded a bit off-key, or is that my speaker ? :) But nevertheless, awesome job !!

Yes my friend, there seems to be something out of place on the G string, my mistake, as mentioned in the written part of the post, I recorded this in a very short time as I am very busy.

Thank you for your kind words, I value them from the bottom of my heart. Best regards!

No worries :) You're doing a amazing job. Great playing !!!

Even singing is not easy, many things have to be taken care of, people like it if hard work is done.

Bro that was amazing, I have always admired the people who play the bass because I understand the importance it plays and the difficulty it has, a great applause brother

Thank you for your words of appreciation for the bass, I really did this with a lot of love and these comments are comforting. Greetings!

Interesting, you have such fast fingers, It was so refreshing.

I did my best, thanks for your visit and support!

You're most welcome

it has a lot of prominence in the song.

I see what you meant here.
You followed through smoothly.
Looking at the bass guitar and how you play make it seem like an easy peasy thing to do hehe.
You did very well.

For me as an apprentice it was not easy, but I did the best I could. Thank you for your words!

The bass in this song dominates full on, that disco-funk era was fabulous and it's a pity that it was lost in time; there were current groups that tried to revive this genre but it wasn't as epic as it should have been.

The song was a tremendous choice and you did a great job on those bass lines Bro 🤘... Big hugs and successes for this week on Vibes 🤜🤛.... You Fuc&%$ Rockkk!!! 👊😎🔥🎙️🎸🎶❤️🌟🍻💥💫💯

I understand what you say about that era of disco music, those were beautiful times with a unique style. And well, something that distinguished that kind of music was how good the bass sounded, I think they gave it a lot of importance and that's why songs like this one came out.

Thanks for your words and for your support, I'm very glad you liked my presentation. Greetings!
