On this week 29 of vibes web3 music competition, I’m gonna do a bass cover of a 90’s song from 1997 by Junoon band. The song I am covering is called Sayonee and this is really close to my heart.

Sayonee means Soulmate and the bass guitar played in this song is the soul of this song according to me as it has kept this song tied up. The soulmate to the bass guitar is the sufi vocals of Ali Azmath and the whole combination is just a very mesmerizing experience.

This song falls under the genre of Sufi Rock and has been a hit throughout India and Pakistan in 90’s and early 2000’s.

I’m playing my good old Sterling bass guitar with a Fender Rumble bass amplifier and the audio is recorded directly through my phone and is completely raw. I’m playing the song through a Bluetooth speaker in the background and is raw too. I tried to keep it as lively as possible and so have not recorded it via DI.

I hope this effort of mine resonates with you all.
